UPDATE: Suspect arrested in MC stabbing; victim in critical condition

UPDATED: Joshua Pojar was located and arrested in the area of Clements Street. The investigation is still ongoing.

From the Morgan City Police Department:

On March 17, 2024, at around 11:14 p.m., officers with the Morgan City Police Department responded to a residence in the area of Federal Ave. regarding a subject who had been stabbed.
The victim was located and quickly escorted by Acadian Ambulance to an out of area hospital where they remain in a stable but critical condition.
According to reports, Joshua Pojar, white male, 42 years of age, allegedly stabbed the victim during a verbal altercation. It was believed that Pojar had fled and barricaded himself into an adjacent structure to the residence.
With the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Inter Agency Special Response Team, the structure was breached, but Pojar was not located. The residence was also secured and currently being processed by the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division.
An Arrest Warrant was obtained for Pojar's arrest for Attempted Second Degree Murder. Joshua Pojar is described as 5'10", 150 lbs., and brown hair. Last seen wearing a colorful shirt, blue Jean shorts, and he currently has a beard.
