Two face felony charges after domestic arrests

Two men face felony domestic-related charges after arrests Saturday in Morgan City and the Bayou L’Ourse area.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Leonard Allen, 59, Sixth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:27 p.m. Saturday on a charge of felony domestic abuse battery (child endangerment law), remaining where forbidden and failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Ashish Sahani, 27, South Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:49 p.m. Friday on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless operation with a stop sign violation, no driver’s license and open container.

--Michael Francois Jr., 35, First Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:07 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless operation, improper lane usage, driving under suspension, no insurance, open container and failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Lionel Granger, 61, Leona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:22 p.m. Sunday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Michael Bray, 67, Magnolia Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:11 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Zacolby Granger, 34, Leona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:25 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Alanni Clark, 32, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:57 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Michael Sanchez-Oseguera, 18, Chennault Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:26 a.m. Friday on an immigration hold.

--Frank Keller Jr., 39, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:21 a.m. Sept. 9 on two counts of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Brittney Pitts, 35, North First Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:46 a.m. Sept. 9 on a charge of battery on emergency room personnel.

--Luis Montoya-Flores, 32, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:46 p.m. Sept. 9 on charges of resisting an officer and no seat belt, and on an immigration hold.

--Henry Daigle Jr., 62, Landry Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:37 a.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless operation.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Charity Marnisee Sam, 28, Lafayette, was arrested at 10:31 a.m. Sept. 9 on charges of maximum speed limit, driving under suspension, and resisting arrest or officer. Sam was released on a $3,750.

--Brandon Alan Gaspard, 47, Pierre Part, was arrested at 3:57 p.m. Sept. 9 on a warrant alleging theft. Gaspard was released on a $1,500 bond.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Sebastain Scoggin, 35, Breaux Bridge, was arrested at 9:32 a.m. Friday on charges of speeding over 25 mph, reckless operation (no accident) and driver's license not on person. Scoggin was booked, processed and released on a $844 bond.

--Waynisha Jones, 41, Patterson, was arrested at 4:39 p.m. Sunday on a charge of aggravated assault. Jones was booked, processed and released on a $1,500 bond.

--Juvenile, 16, Patterson, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. Sunday on charges of simple battery and criminal damage to property.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:

--Grant Michael Walker, 31, Murial Street, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Saturday on charges of domestic abuse-aggravated assault, domestic abuse battery and simple criminal damage to property.

The charges arise from a domestic incident on Murial Street.

Deputies were dispatched to the location and made contact with the complainants, who indicated Walker became irate and began tossing items around striking one of the complainants while knocking the second complainant to the ground.

Complainants stated Walker armed himself with a firearm before departing and making further threats toward the complainants.

Walker returned home while deputies were still conducting their investigation and he was arrested.

Walker was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and remains incarcerated with a bond set at $55,000.

--Nona K. Daigle, 64, La Jaunie Court, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested on charges of attempted simple burglary and criminal trespass.

The charges resulted from the attempted burglary at a shed on La Jaunie Court on Sept. 8.

Deputies responded to the call for service and made contact with the complainant, who advised he was the caretaker of the property in question and noticed the doors to the shed open. The property caretaker viewed video footage that detected two female suspects attempting to
make forced entry into the building.

Deputies made contact with an individual now identified as Daigle, and deputies concluded that she was one of the persons detected in the video surveillance images.

At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies arrested Daigle and booked her into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

Deputies are continuing their investigation and expect an additional arrest.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests.

--Juvenile was arrested at 8:40 a.m. Friday on a charge of terrorizing.

--Juvenile was arrested at 9 a.m. Friday on a charge of terrorizing.

--Vertress Loston, 47, Lockette Road, Franklin, was arrested at 12:52 a.m. Monday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. Loston was additionally arrested on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on the charges of stalking and remaining where
forbidden. Loston was booked, processed and held on a $25,500 bond.

--Quincy Roberts, 32, Labau Street, Baldwin, was arrested at 9:56 a.m. Thursday on charges of resisting an officer, possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. Roberts was booked, processed and transported to the
St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Juvenile was arrested at 2:38 p.m. Thursday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Dominic Tanui, 17, Gum Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:38 p.m. Thursday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Tanui was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.

--Jonathan Piriou, 27, Franklin, was arrested at 7:12 p.m. Thursday on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Piriou was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
