Two arrested on synthetic marijuana charges

Morgan City police reported arrests Wednesday on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Jonathan Lindsey, 39, North Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, was arrested at 6:90 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana, improper turning and driving under suspension.

--Lloyd Lajas Humphrey, 45, Halsey Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of juveniles.

--Shane Keith Scott, 40, Gabriel Street, Patterson was arrested at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday on charges of resisting an officer and failure to appear for arraignment.

--Anthony Javonte Harris, 28, Arizone Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of cruelty to animals.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 29 complaints and made this arrest:

--JaQuincy Colbert, 33, Franklin, was arrested at 7:31 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of resisting arrest and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. Bail has not been set at this time.
