Tip leads to Morgan City man's arrest on child porn charges

A Mayon Street man faces child pornography charges after Morgan City police received a tip from a national organization that combats child exploitation.

Drake Domingue, 33, Mayon Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3 p.m. Monday on three counts of pornography involving juveniles, the Police Department said.

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division began an investigation after receiving a cyber-tip from the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations. The tip was generated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Police Department said. The Morgan City Police Department currently partners with multiple agencies on the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

As the investigation progressed, multiple images of children of a sexual nature were identified. According to reports, Domingue was developed as the subject who downloaded and viewed these images. Warrants were obtained for Domingue's arrest, the Police Department said.

On Monday, a search warrant connected to the investigation was executed in the area of Mayon Street, where Domingue was identified as living. Several devices were seized for further analysis.

Domingue was located at the Morgan City Police Department being housed on unrelated charges.

Domingue was arrested on the additional charges. The investigation continues.

"Chief Chad M. We want to thank the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations (LBI) for their partnerships in these investigations. "
