
Three arrested on battery, abuse charges

St. Mary deputies made three arrests on battery or domestic abuse charges this week, and a fourth on a home invasion charge.
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:
--Preston Jamal Wade, 36, Amelia, was arrested at 10:17 a.m. Monday on charges of second-degree battery and simple battery. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Seth Aurelius Kidder, 46, Jeanerette, was arrested at 4:18 a.m. Wednesday on charges of criminal damage to property and home invasion. Bail was set at $8,500.
--Allen Ray Only Jr., 44, Centerville, was arrested at 5:43 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of domestic abuse (aggravated child endangerment) and violation of protection orders. Bail was set at $15,000.
--Preston Jamal Wade, 36, Amelia, was arrested at 10:17 a.m. Monday on charges of second-degree battery and simple battery. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Andrew Mackensey Schneider, 40, Colville, Washington, was arrested at 5:48 a.m. Monday on charges of resisting arrest or officer and threatening a public official. Bail was set at $10,000.
--Jeffery Lee Marks Jr., 33, Jeanerette, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a legend drug without a prescription, possession of promethazine, transactions involving proceeds from a drug offense, resisting a police officer with force or violence, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, no driver’s license and possession of heroin.
Bail has not been set at this time.
--Jason Lee Ribardi Sr., 53, Franklin, was arrested at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of cruelty to a juvenile. Bail was set at $15,000.
--Jason Joseph Bynum, 50, Baldwin, was arrested at 5:59 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of registration of sex offenders. Bail was set at $20,000.
--Jason Jermaine Matthews, 45, Amelia, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 10:08 p.m. Monday on a warrant alleging non-support. Bail was set at $22,416.34.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
--Margaret Bergeron, 38, Carline Street, Berwick, was arrested at 12:47 p.m. Monday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Jermiah Luke, 46, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:17 a.m. Tuesday on charges of resisting an officer, two counts of failure to pay fine and probation violation (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported this arrest:
--Christopher Paul, 49, of James St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on June 1, 2026, at 9:25 PM, on a warrant for St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office for possession of a firearm by person convicted of domestic violence battery. Paul was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
