Suspect arrested in five Bayou L'Ourse burglaries

Assumption Parish detectives made an arrest Wednesday in their investigation into five burglaries in the Bayou L'Ourse area.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Lakell Mikell Honor, 20, Aristle Road, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Wednesday on five counts of simple burglaries.

The arrest resulted from the investigation into a string of burglaries in the Bayou L’Ourse area. Detectives identified Honor as a suspect.

On Wednesday, detectives executed a search warrant at Honor's Aristle Road address. They recovered evidence connected to the burglaries.

Arrest warrants were obtained for Honor. He was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center with bond set at $75,000.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 88 calls for service over the last 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests.

-John Wayne Ross, 54, Second Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:38 a.m. Thursday on charges of littering in public places.

--Caleb Ra’shawn Givens, 22, Mallard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Thursday on charges of simple assault, remaining after forbidden and failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Joseph Aaron Cagnolatti, 28, Russo Street, Berwick, was arrested at 7:58 p.m. Thursday on a charge of simple assault.

--Wesley Daniel Landry, 28, Zerlee Street, Morgan City, was arrested 9:11 p.m. Thursday on a charge of improper lighting, expired driver's license and failure to appear for sentencing (16th Judicial District Court) and as a fugitive from St. Martin Parish.

--Devante Harris, 23, Stirrup Court, Hephzibah, Georgia, was arrested at 10:24 p.m. Thursday on charges of possesison of marijuana and improper lighting.

--Christopher Dwaine Woods, 31, Mount Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:44 a.m. Friday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and as a fugitive from the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office.

--James Darren Robinson, 54, 11th Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Wednesday on charges of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and failure to appear fro trial (16th Judicial Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 55 complaints and made these arrests:

--De’vontrius Kerron Perro, 25, Franklin, was arrested at 11:36 p.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Vinnie Austin Sr., 48, Franklin, was arrested at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and two counts of threatening a public official. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Hunter Michael Chauvin, 27, Houma was arrested 1 p.m. Wednesday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of domestic abuse (child endangerment law); simple battery; operating a vehicle while license is suspending, revoked or canceled; failure to secure vehicle registration.

Chauvin was also named in an MCPD warrant alleging failure to appear.

Bail has not been set on the SMPSO charges at this time, and a hold has been placed on Chauvin for another agency.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to nine complaints over the past 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests arrests:

--Arlest Madison, 48, Liner Street, Franklin, was arrested at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday on charges of operating a vehicle while under suspension for certain prior offenses and stop sign violation. Madison was booked, processed and released on a $1,500 bond.

--Ariel Brown, 40, Easy Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:57 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of stop signs and yield signs, driver must be licensed, and no insurance. Brown was booked, processed and released on a $423.00 bond.

--Raymond White, 39, Theresa Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4:58 p.m. Thursday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reckless operation of a vehicle, and simple criminal damage to property. White was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Jarmontay Robertson, 29, Robertson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:49 p.m. Thursday on a warrant dated June 19 alleging resisting an officer, and on a warrant dated July 3 alleging aggravated second-degree battery. Robertson was additionally arrested on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on the charges of simple criminal damage to property, remaining where forbidden and possession of drug paraphernalia. Robertson was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
