Suspect arrested in Amelia vehicle thefts; MCPD makes eight arrests on fighting charges

Assumption deputies have charged one of three men suspected in the December theft of two utility vehicles from an Amelia business. Morgan City police reported eight arrests on charges of disturbing the peace by fighting over the weekend.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Bryan Kelly Wright, 49, Ponderosa Lane, Gray, was transferred to the Assumption Parish Detention Facility on Friday and booked on two counts of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of simple criminal damage to property.

The charges result from a Dec. 9 incident at a business on East Service Road.

Deputies responded to the business to investigate the theft of two side-by-side utility vehicles. Detectives began an investigation and identified three suspects: Wright; Adam Joseph Carriere, 40, Houma; and Stephen M. Sheppard, 51, Houma.

The Sheriff's Office issued warrants for the three men, all of whom were incarcerated in other jurisdictions.

On Friday, Wright was transferred to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on the charges. He remains incarcerated with bond set at $80,000.

Carrere was previously arrested and posted bond the same charges.

Sheppard is currently incarcerated in another facility and will be charged in Assumption Parish later.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 114 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Chad Michael Bertrand, 38, Joey Street, Patterson, was arrested at 9 a.m. Friday as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.

--Laron Dewayne Miller, 36, Cohen Street, Marrero, was arrested at 9:22 a.m. Friday on charges of remaining after forbidden and battery of emergency room personnel.

--Lashana Bennet, 42, Tiffany Street, Patterson, was arrested at 1:43 p.m. Friday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Ann Oncale, 64, Cypress Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:24 p.m. Friday on charges of disturbing the peace and loud music from a vehicle.

--Arthur Louis Oncale, 37, Victor II Boulevard, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. Friday on a charge of loud music from a vehicle.

--Arthur Joseph Oncale Jr., 68, Cypress Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. Friday on charges of disturbing the peace and loud music from a vehicle.

--Laquiesha Holmes, 43, Alabama, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Friday as a fugitive from Caldwell County, Texas.

--Tifton Bingham, 21, Dexter Avenue, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of marijuana.

--Joshua David Dimaggio, 25, Rose Street, Berwick, was arrested at 12:14 a.m. Saturday on charges of possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

--Blaine Chanel Tramonte, 22, Bayou Drive, Pierre Part, was arrested at 1:59 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Devin Michael Leblanc, 21, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 1:59 p.m. Saturday on charges of simple battery and disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Colby John Alleman, 22, Davis North Bay Road, Pierre Part, was arrested at 1:59 p.m. Saturday on a charge of interference with a law enforcement investigation.

--Christopher Sylvester Jr., 27, Pinecrest Drive, Pineville, was arrested at 6:36 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of cocaine, introduction of contraband into a penal facility and failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Demarcus S. Roy, 30, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Saturday on a charge of illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.

--Misty Lynn Gaudet, 35, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:24 a.m. Sunday on two counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Drake Domingue, 33, Mayon Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:25 a.m. Sunday on charges of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and as a fugitive from the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office.

--Jorge Antonio Vasquez-Bran, 26, Victor II Boulevard, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Daniel Hernandez, 20, Victor II Boulevard, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Jiminnson Merdrano, 31, Victor II Bouelvard, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Angel Medrano, 24, Victor II Boulevard, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting) and four counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

---Raymond Lee Gautreaux, 29, Bridge Road, Patterson, was arrested at 2:03 a.m. Sunday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--John Wayne Ross, 54, Second Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:59 p.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Carlos Lopez, 50, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:59 p.m. Sunday on a charge disturbing the peace (fighting).

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 84 complaints and made these arrests:

--Waylan Leonard Payne, 42, Franklin, was arrested at 10:06 p.m. Saturday on a charge of battery of a dating partner (child endangerment law). Bail was set at $15,000.

--Xavier Omar Clark, 18, Centerville, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. Saturday on charges of disturbing the peace (fighting) and resisting arrest or officer. Bail was set at $1,000.

--Tyrek Jamal Colbert, 21, Centerville, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Bail was set at $1,500.

--William Sidney Huguet, 36, Galliano, was arrested at at 6:20 p.m. Saturday on charges of unauthorized entry to an inhabited dwelling and resisting arrest or officer. Bail was set at $50,000.

--Courtney Paul Mayer, 35, Franklin, was arrested at 11:26 p.m. Saturday on charges of terrorizing, disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and entry or remaining on forbidden place. Bail was set at $7,000.

--Anthony Jude Leblanc Sr., 63, Gibson, was arrested at 2:42 p.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and possession of a legend drug without a prescription. Bail was set at $2,000.

Berwick

Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:

--Tanara Walker, 27, Patterson was arrested at 1:34 p.m. Friday on Patterson Police Department warrants alleging aggravated battery, aggravated criminal damage to property and disturbing the peace.

About 1:12 p.m. Friday, the Berwick Police Department responded to a residence on Nichole Lane to remove a subject. It was learned that Walker was the person being asked to leave the premises.

During this time, it was learned that Walker had active warrants through the Patterson Police Department. Walker was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department for booking.

--Bonnie Manzo, 60, Berwick, was arrested at 10:05 p.m. Friday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.

About 9:14 p.m. Friday, the Berwick Police Department responded to a 911 hang-up. While speaking with Manzo it was learned that there had been an altercation between her and a victim.

Officers spoke with the victim, who reported being struck by Manzo. Manzo was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where she was booked..

--Margaret Guidroz, 44, Patterson was arrested at 02:07 a.m. Sunday on a Lafourche Parish warrant alleging contempt of court.

About 1:38 a.m. Sunday, a traffic stop was conducted, and Guidroz was identified as a passenger. While speaking with Guidroz, it was learned that she had active warrants through the Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office. Guidroz was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department for booking.

--Marvin Hudson, 53, Lynn Haven, Florida, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. Sunday on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

At 8:50 p.m., the Berwick Police Department received a call about a subject entering a residence. The complainant advised that a unknown male subject entered his home and began cursing at him, then left. A description was given, and officers were able to locate the subject a short time later in the area.

He was identified as Hudson and was placed under arrest. Hudson was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Steven Aucoin, 30, Sandi Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 11:29 p.m. on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Aucoin was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

--Rubio L. Yirelis, 37, Taft Street, Patterson, was arrested at 5:16 p.m. Sunday on charges of child endangerment and obscenity.

--Jeffery Schexnider, 44, David Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 9:21 p.m. Sunday on charges of criminal damage to property and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Schexnider was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 15 complaints over the weekend and made these arrests:

--Zachary Guidry, 25, Channing Way, Sunset, was arrested at 8:02 a.m. Friday on charges of speeding and reckless operation. Guidry was booked, processed and released on a $568 bond.

--David Madison, 59, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10 a.m. Friday on a warrant dated July 20 alleging simple battery. Madison was booked, processed and released on a $2,500 bond.

--Thomas Jones, 34, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:25 p.m. Friday on charges of speeding and suspended driver's license. Jones was booked, processed and released on a $1,250 bond.

--Nolberto Gonzales, 55, La. 308, Thibodaux, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Sunday on the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, careless operation and no driver's license. Gonzales was booked, processed and released
