St. Mary deputies arrest man named in St. Martin murder warrant

A Houma man accused of failing to appear on drug and gun charges here was also named in a St. Martin warrant alleging first-degree murder, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies also reported other arrests on drug, domestic battery and feticide charges.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 84 complaints and made these arrests:

--Jujuan Melvin Poindexter, 22, Houma, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of illegal use, possession or control of weapons in a crime of violence; illegal possession of stolen firearms; possession of hydrocodone bitartrate; possession of marijuana; improper lane usage; and no seat belt.

Bail has not been set on the St. Mary Parish charges.

Poindexter was also named in an active St. Martin Parish warrant alleging first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and criminal damage to property.

A hold has been place on Poindexter for another agency.

--Donald Ray Richard Jr., 42, Baldwin, was arrested at 1:57 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, general speed law, possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of Schedule V drugs.

Richard was released on a $15,000 bond.

--Jada I'yoanie Druilhet, 22, Franklin, was arrested at 10:52 a.m. Friday on charges of resisting an officer by giving false information; view outward and inward through windshield; unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution of fraudulent documents; inciting a riot; and disturbing the peace (fighting), and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of simple battery.

Druilhet also was named in two Franklin Police Department warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of resisting an officer and expired vehicle inspection.

Druilhet also was named in a Jeanerette warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of criminal damage to property and criminal trespassing.

Bail has not been set on the St. Mary Parish charges, and a hold has been placed for another agency.

--Grant Michael Walker, 27, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:53 a.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Jeremiah Thomas Singleton, 21, Patterson, was arrested at 11:14 a.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging two counts of violation of protective orders, domestic abuse battery and second-degree feticide. Bail has not been set at this time.

Berwick

Chief David S. Leonard reported this arrest:

--Kevin Dontay, 38, Sixth Street, St. Berwick was arrested at 10:06 p.m. Saturday on charges of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment), simple assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

About 9:14 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Sixth Street. Dontay was learned to be the suspect of the altercation.

Officers spoke with the victim and witnesses, who stated Dontay made several threats to harm the victim. Through investigation, it was learned that Dontay was in possession of a firearm and is a convicted felon, which prohibits him from doing so.

Dontay was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy said the Franklin Police Department responded to 21 complaints over the weekend and made these arrests:

--Lilly Touchet, 31, Magnolia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:38 p.m. Friday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Touchet was booked, processed and released to appear in 16th Judicial District Court.

--Raken Tillman, 20, Hamilton Street, Franklin, was arrested at 5:42 a.m. Saturday on charges of aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce, speed zone limits, driver must be licensed, 10 counts of stop sign violation and flight from an officer.

Tillman was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Troyvor Tillman, 27, Park Avenue, Thibodaux, was arrested at 7:21 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for City Court of Thibodaux alleging failure to appear on charges of failure to display license plate and possession of marijuana. Tillman was additionally arrested on a warrant for 17th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on the charges of driver must be licensed, view outward or inward through windshield and possession of marijuana.

Tillman was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Ronnie Boatman Jr., 44, Carl C. Foulcard Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 8:54 p.m. Sunday on charges of theft, two counts of criminal trespassing and simple burglary. Boatman was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Alvin Cook, 68, of Anderson St., Franklin, was arrested at 9:00 p.m. Sunday on a warrant dated July 5 alleging theft. Cook was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.
