Seven drug arrests by local agencies this week

Law enforcement agencies reported seven arrests on drug-related charges this week.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 85 calls for service over the last 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Trent Anthony Little, 33, Mallard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:24 a.m. Monday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal used of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, violation of a drug-free zone and transactions involving proceeds from drug sales.
--Billy Turze Townsend, 31, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:58 a.m. Monday on charges of possession of fentanyl, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile and violation of a drug-free zone.
--Luke Charges David, 22, Chestnut Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:47 p.m. Monday on charges of possession of marijuana (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia and headlights required.
--Jarvis Darrel Granger, 38, Joseph Street, Amelia, was arrested at 2 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan Court).
--Lizandro Joel Rodriguez, 41, Mildenhall Court, Houston, Texas, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. Tuesday on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to yield and improper lane usage.
--Anita Charles, 37, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:57 a.m. Monday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 71 complaints and made these arrests:
--Jacob Thomas Alcina, 36, Patterson, was arrested at 11:54 a.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of Schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $20,500.
--Arthell Arndolph Gray, 40, Patterson, was arrested at 11:54 a.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of Schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $3,500.
--Bernard Haynes Davis Sr., 55, Franklin, was arrested at 7:03 a.m. Monday on a Franklin Police Department warrant alleging theft. Bail has been set at $300.
--Roger Andrew Valma, 42, Franklin, was arrested at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday on a New Iberia Police Department warrant alleging simple assault. Valma is being held for another agency.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 26 calls for service over the last 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Ananenia Dauphine, 30, Canal Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of careless operation and driving under suspension. Dauphine was booked, processed and released on a $413 bond.
--Bernard Davis Sr., 55, Pickett Lane, Franklin, was arrested at12:45 p.m. Monday on a warrant dated Feb 15 alleging theft. Davis was booked, processed and released on a $300.00 bond.
--Jarvis Granger, 39, Joseph Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:54 p.m. Monday on a warrant for City Court of Morgan City alleging failure to appear a charge of driving under suspension. Granger was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
--Jarrett McKinley Gros Simoneaux, 31, Highway 1 South, Donaldsonville, was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and no seat belt.
--Kaitlyn Alida Chedotal, 29, North Curtis Street, Pierre Part, was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and no seat belt.
The charges arise from a traffic stop on La. 308 near Belle Rose.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a northbound vehicle on La.308 with equipment violations and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Simoneaux and one passenger, now identified as Chedotal.
The deputy conducted interviews of both Simoneaux and Chedotal. At the conclusion of those interviews, the deputy believed further investigation was warranted.
Deputies obtained consent to search the suspect vehicle. During the search, deputies seized a significant amount of methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia.
Simoneaux and Chedotal were arrested booked and incarcerated pending bond proceedings.
