Recent arrests result in battery, burglary charges

(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

Morgan City and St. Mary authorities made three arrests on battery charges in the last week, while Franklin police arrested two Morgan City men on burglary charges. The string of recent arrests on synthetic cannabinoid charges continues.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Amber Swanson, 28, Bailey Lane, Amelia, was arrested at 11:12 a.m. Thursday on charges of criminal damage to property (over $5,000) and battery on emergency room personnel.

--Frankie Leone, 61, Felicia Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:43 p.m. Saturday on a charge of simple battery.

--Koby Jones, 24, Keith Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Thursday on charges of illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of a firearm in the presence of controlled dangerous substance and possession of marijuana (under 14 grams).

--Amber Fendley, 41, Crenshaw Street, Berwick, was arrested at 9:43 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice and theft (under $1,000).

--Devan Serpa, 40, Victor II Boulevard, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. June 3 on a charge of possession of synthetic cannabinoids. (Released on summons.)

--Javier Valdes-Parra, 38, Sixth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:25 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of fraudulent documents and forgery.

--Diego Armando Raudales, 26, Tupelo Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:22 p.m. Friday on charges of hit and run and no driver’s license. (Released on summons.)

--Gregory Payne, 50, Oregon Street, Berwick, was arrested at 9:43 p.m. Friday on charges of flight from an officer, driving under suspension and two brake lights required.

--Morshai Charles, 31, Neptune Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:34 p.m. Saturday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Jacob Gil, 40, Kimberly Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:01 a.m. Sunday on charges of probation violation and two counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Sarah Scott, 44, Walnut Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:22 p.m. Sunday on charge of violation of a protective order.

--Scotty Richard, 37, Copperhead Road, Ville Platte, was arrested at 12:21 p.m. Thursday as a fugitive from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office.

--James Jones, 20, Hillridge Drive, Youngsville was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams). (Released on summons.)

--Jayden Smith, 20, Old Spanish Trail, New Iberia, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams). (Released on summons.)

--Jimmy Bonvillain, 60, Second Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:40 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated (third offense), general speed law, improper lane usage and driving under suspension.

--Wilmer Marquez-Jiron, 19, Eighth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:22 p.m. June 3 on a charge of hit and run. (Released on summons.)

--Cherri Lambert, 50, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. June 3 on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Terance Cordale Mobley, 42, Youngsville, was arrested at 10:05 a.m. Friday on a charge of simple battery. Mobley continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Jamon Bias, 46, Bayou Vista, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 3:09 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and
transactions involving proceed from drug offenses.

--Curtis Paul Gaudet Sr., 53, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle without proper required equipment and operating a motor vehicle not covered by security. Gaudet was released on a $3,000 bond.

--Jesus Avila Carmona, 20, Franklin, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Brandon Joseph Lancaster, 31, Baton Rouge, was arrested at 1:56 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of driving while license is suspended. Lancaster was released on a $6,000 bond.

--Luis Angel Diosdado-Barron, 35, Houma, was arrested at 9:16 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless operation (no accident), driver must be licensed, improper lane usage, failure to single, modification of exhaust systems and vehicle of nonresident used
regularly in Louisiana.

Diosdado-Barron was released on a $4,250 bond.

--Jessica Renee Gros, 39, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Gros was released on a $2,750 bond.

--Marissa Kametria Sigur, 28, Broussard, was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Sunday on a charge of possession of stolen things. Sigur was released on a $2,500 bond.

--Brandon Patrick Conerly, 47, Berwick, was arrested at 10:43 a.m. Saturday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on a charge of failure to appear as a witness. Conerly was released on his own recognizance.

--Cameron Orrin Mitchell, 26, Franklin, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. Monday on a charge of cruelty to a juvenile. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Lisa Robinson Mitchell, 64, Franklin, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. Monday on a warrant alleging cruelty to a juvenile. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Michael Anthony Leonard, 47, Franklin, was arrested at 9:34 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear for the charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

Bail was set at $175,000.

--Michael Wayne Bowie, 64, Baldwin, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. June 3 on charges of possession of Schedule IV drugs and no seat belt. Bowie was released on a $2,500 bond.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Justin Adams, 48, Patton Street, Morgan City, was arrested Thursday on a warrant alleging simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and illegal possession of stolen things (over $25,000).

--Curtis Richard, 49, Glenwood Street, Morgan City, was arrested Thursday on a warrant alleging simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and illegal possession of stolen things (over $25,000).

On Nov. 12, the Franklin Police Department responded to a residential burglary. During the course of the investigation, persons of interest were identified and felony warrants were obtained. Adams and Richard were arrested.

The third suspect has been identified as Kelly Wiggins.

Wiggins is wanted as a principal to simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and principal to illegal possession of stolen things over $25,000.

--Stephen Murray, 42, Franklin, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (language). Murray was booked, processed and held on a $1,000 bond.

--James Murray, 38, Oakdale Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (language). Murray was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.

--Brendan Comeaux, 32, Franklin, was arrested at 6:31 p.m. Thursday on warrants alleging possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and resisting an officer. Comeaux was booked, processed and held on a $926 bond.
