Police make arrest in 2022 shooting death

Franklin police have made an arrest in the 2022 shooting death of a 19-year-old man who was found with a head wound in his overturned vehicle.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Ashlee Miller, 43, Pine Street, Franklin, was arrested Friday on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies.

The shooting was reported to Franklin police about 10:02 p.m. Jan. 11, 2002. An overturned vehicle was located with a male victim inside suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified Cahyvion Alexander, 19.

Miller was arrested on a warrant dated Aug. 28. Miller was booked, processed and held with no bail set as of Tuesday.

--Avonne Granger, 37, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Franklin, was arrested at 12:58 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Granger was booked, processed, and held with bond set at time of press release.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 45 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Keith Allen Clark, 50, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:37 a.m. Monday on a charge of simple assault.

--Jeffery Tex Matherne, 45, St. Claire Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:47 a.m. Monday on four counts of theft (under $1,000), four counts of criminal damage to property, three counts of criminal mischief and three counts of criminal trespassing.

--Wanda Maria Smith, 59, Broadway Street, New Orleans, was arrested at 3:32 p.m. Monday on a charge of theft (under $1,000).

--Arne L. Brewer, 57, Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:15 p.m. Monday on charges of aggravated assault, resisting an officer and disturbing the peace.

--Chaz Michael Rebardi, 28, Mill Road, Patterson, was arrested at 10:46 p.m. Monday on three counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 23 complaints and made these arrests:

--Lee Anne Bruce, 44, Franklin, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Monday on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Ron Delone Leonard, 42, Jeanerette, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Monday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $26,896.86.
