Patterson man accused of possessing drugs in distribution quantities

St. Mary narcotics detectives investigating drug sales arrested a Patterson man Sept. 2 on charges of possessing three controlled substances in distribution quantities.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Jerry Charles Jr., 61, Patterson, was arrested at 11:48 a.m. Sept. 2 on charges of possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, possession of drug paraphernalia and transactions involving drug offenses.

SMPSO narcotics detectives investigating the selling of illegal narcotics obtained an arrest warrant for Jerry Charles and a search warrant for a residence on Mike Drive in Patterson.

Detectives served the search warrant on the residence and through the search seized a pistol, $2,600 in cash, drug paraphernalia, 1.78 pounds of marijuana, hydrocodone pills, 300 grams of oxycodone pills and 32.25 pounds of synthetic marijuana.

Charles was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Roberto Guajuardo Quintanilla, 49, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:45 a.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, driving under suspension, open container, and resisting arrest or officer.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Tanya Nicole Grogan, 50, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:11 p.m. Sept. 2 on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, careless operation of a vehicle, improper child restraint, possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, operating a vehicle with an expired driver's license and failure to appear as a witness

Bail has not been set at this time.

--John Wesley Menser, 47, Patterson, was arrested at 10:57 a.m. Sept. 2 on a charge of violation of protective orders. Menser was released on a $2,500 bond.

--Joseph Paul Demarco, 61, Franklin, was arrested at 10:13 a.m. Sept. 2 on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of no seat belt, proper equipment required on vehicles, switched or stolen license plate and driving under suspension, and two Franklin Police Department warrants.

Bail has not been set at this time.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Telisa Kenner, 60, Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:56 a.m. Thursday on a chare of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Shannon Deal, 26, Reserve Street, New Iberia, was arrested 9:14 a.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Meagen Fisher, 38, Gen. Patton Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:22 p.m. Thursday on two counts of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

--Kalyn Gros, 37, Pecan Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:24 p.m. Thursday on three counts of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Kendra Alleman, 45, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Franklin, was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Thursday on a charge of remaining where forbidden.

--Christopher Hubbard, 56, Shady Grove Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. Sept. 2 on charges of theft (under $1,000), possession of stolen things, driving under suspension and switched license plate.

--Brandi Hebert, 46, Third Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:53 a.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported this arrest:

--Freddie Sellers, 36, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:24 a.m. Thursday on charges of failure to yield to emergency vehicles, operating a vehicle while license suspended, no insurance and switched license plate. Sellers was booked, processed and released to appear in Mayor's Court.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Briana Turner, 28, Ledoux Circle, Patterson, was arrested at 9:09 p.m. Sept. 2 on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle with improper stop lamps and operating a vehicle while license is suspended. Turner was booked,
processed and released on a $1,000 bond.

--Donald Welch, 60, Robert Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:32 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Welch was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Tyjon Alexander, 26, Baker Road, Franklin, was arrested at 7:34 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of no seat belt. Alexander was booked, processed and released on a $100 bond.

--Irvyon James, 23, Seventh Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:34 p.m. Thursday on charges of window tint, proper equipment display of plate required on vehicles, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. James was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.'

Chitimacha

Chief B.C. Trahan reported this arrest

--Angela R. Davidson, 61, South Gordon Street, Centerville, Mississippi, was arrested on charges of domestic abuse battery, aggravated second-degree battery, aggravated domestic abuse with a vehicle, two counts of failure to seek assistance and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

The arrest followed an investigation into an incident involving a victim who was reportedly struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Following the incident, an investigation led to the discovery of the vehicle involved, which fled the scene and, with the assistance of law enforcement agencies in Lafayette Parish were able to intercept the vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, Chitimacha Tribal Police Department investigators gathered information and evidence surrounding the circumstances of the incident. As a result of the investigation, Davidson was arrested on active warrants and transported to St Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
