Morgan City police report battery, marijuana arrests

Morgan City police reported arrests this week on battery and marijuana charges.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 92 calls for service and made these arrests:

--Steve Michael Scully, 38, Dixie Court, Bayou L'Ourse, was arrested at 2:47 p.m. Thursday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Taaj Maleek Delaune, 22, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:16 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana and improper turning.

--Marvin Mitchell Williamson Jr., 59, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. Thursday on charges of failure to appear for arraignment (16th Judicial District Court).

--Dearius Deshawn Kenner, 36, Grace Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:13 a.m. Friday on charges of domestic abuse battery, resisting an officer and simple assault.

--Shaun Clark Benally, 28, Page, Arizona, was arrested at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and improper lane usage.

--Robert Paul Stansbury Jr., 40, Franklin Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of simple battery.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported this arrest:

--Ashley N. Rawlins, Lagonda Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:14 a.m. Wednesday on two counts of cruelty to animals. Rawlins was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bail set at $2,000.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to six complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Shawn Jenkins, 47, Morris Street, Franklin, incarcerated at the Franklin Police Department, was arrested 9:42 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office alleging failure to pay annual sex offender registration fee. Jenkins was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Bianca McDaniel, 32, Robertson Street, Frann, was arrested at 12:33 p.m. Thursday on a warrant dated Dec. 29 alleging criminal trespassing. McDaniel was booked, processed and released on a $500 bond.

--Anthony Wells, 71, Antigo Alley, Franklin, was arrested at 10:55 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for the Baldwin Police Department alleging theft by shoplifting. Wells was booked, processed and held on a $1,500.00 bond.
