Morgan City police make drug, drunken driving arrests

Morgan City police reported four arrests on drunken driving charges over the weekend and three charges of drug possession.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 142 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Hector R. Hernandez, 37, Sixth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:17 a.m. Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense), possession of cocaine, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, improper lane usage, no driver's license and failure to pay probation fee (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Marlon Noe Garrido-Ochoa, 39, Louisiana Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), no driver's license, speeding 82 mph in a 70 mph zone, possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and resisting an officer.

--Darren Scott Mizell, 54, West Michigan Street, Hammond, was arrested at 2:48 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

--Marcial Sanchez, 25, Chennault Street, Morgan City, was arrested 12:03 a.m. Monday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense, no driver' s license and improper equipment on vehicle.

--Henry John Giroir, 36, Maplewood Street, Houma, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. Sunday on a charge of possession of marijuana.

-Christopher Lee Lacaze, 44, Third Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:59 a.m. Sunday on a charge of possession of marijuana.

--Andra Denise Wilson, 37, Louisa Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:41 p.m. Friday on charges of remaining after forbidden, resisting an officer, disturbing the peace, simple assault, simple escape and two counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Nicholas Daniel Wiggins, 33, Tupelo Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:15 a.m. Friday on charges of resisting an officer and as a fugitive from the Patterson Police Department.

--Richelle Centrell Gladstone, 29, Apple Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:18 p.m. Friday on charges of no driver's license, improper display of a license plate and failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Darryl Darnell Winley, 33, Mallard Street, Morgan City, arrested at 5:45 p.m. Friday on charges of resisting an officer, improper lighting, and a total of eight counts of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Kendrick Matthews, 33, Fifth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:41 p.m. Friday on a charge of remaining after forbidden.

--Gregory Scott Free, 39, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, improper window tint and no driver's license.

--Nikki Rene Mayon, 41, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested 1:25 p.m. Sunday on two counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

Berwick

Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:

--Nolan Saujon, 46, Morgan City was arrested at 5:08 p.m. Friday on a St. Mary Parish warrant alleging criminal neglect of family.

About 4:57 p.m. Friday, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed to have improper equipment. Officers made contact with the driver, who was identified as Saujon.

During the course of the stop, it was learned that Saujon had an active warrant through the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. Saujon was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked.

--Lisa Fontenot, 57, Berwick was arrested at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on a St. Mary Parish warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of bank fraud.

About 11:30 a.m. Saturday, officers located Fontenot at her residence. Officers were aware that Fontenot was named in several active warrants through the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Fontenot was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where she was booked.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 12 complaints over the weekend and made these arrests:

--Tyrus Polidore, 34, 12th Street, Franklin, while incarcerated at the Franklin Police Department, was arrested at 9:09 a.m. Friday on a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office alleging failure to register as sex offender and on a warrant alleging parole violation. Polidore was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--LaDarrius Davis, 25, Seventh Street, Franklin, was arrested at 1:22 p.m. Friday on a warrant for Patterson City Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of speeding. Davis was booked, processed and transported to the Patterson Police Department.

--Dylan Daigle, 30, Big Bear Lane, Franklin, was arrested 4:35 p.m. Friday on a warrant dated July 4 alleging violation of a protective order. Daigle was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.

--Marie Sophus, 67, Isabella Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:14 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (language). Sophus was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.

--Chantay Johnson, 27, Danos Street, Raceland, was arrested at 6:08 p.m. Saturday on charges of speeding and driver's license suspended. Johnson was booked, processed nd released on a $1,250 bond.
