More theft arrests reported in Morgan City, Assumption

A string of local theft-related cases continued this week with arrests by Morgan City and Assumption Parish authorities.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 24-hour period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service and made this arrest:

--Angelle R. Broussard, 32, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:25 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of stolen things (under $1,000).

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Randy Germond Clark, 37, Friendship Lane, Amelia, was booked Wednesday on charges of felony theft ($1,000-$5,000) and misdemeanor theft.

The charges resulted from two separate theft investigations.

On April 1, sheriff’s deputies responded to a pair of theft complaints, one in the 100 block of La. 662 and the second in the 100 block of Lajaunie Court.

Responding deputies made contact with the complainants. Through investigation, deputies were able to secure video evidence of the suspect as well as his vehicle and were able to positively identify him as Clark.

At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies applied for and were granted arrest warrants for Clark.

With the assistance of Morgan City Police Department, Assumption Parish deputies and detectives located Clark at an apartment on La. 182 in Morgan City. Search warrants for the residence of Clark as well as his vehicle were executed, resulting in the seizure of items stolen in the Bayou L’Ourse theft case.

Clark was arrested and subsequently released to the custody of Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Clark was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Wednesday and remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

--Shaquara LaQuita Williams, 27, Deadwood Road, Gibson, was booked Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of theft of a motor vehicle.

Williams was previously arrested in Assumption Parish on a charge of theft of a motor vehicle. As a result of that arrest, Williams was ordered to appear in court Aug. 21 and failed to comply. Due to her nonappearance in court, a warrant was issued for Williams’ arrest.

Williams was arrested by Houma city police March 29.. Williams was released to the custody of Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Tuesday and booked into the Assumption Parish
Detention Center. She remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 12 complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

-Joseph Daniels, 27, Samuel Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:09 Wednesday on a warrant dated Oct. 3 alleging possession of cocaine and possession of Adderall. Daniels was booked, processed and released on a $5,000 bond.

--Jeremy Wilson, 23, East Dale Street, New Iberia, Lwas arrested at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday on charges of speeding and driving while suspended. Wilson was booked, processed and released on a $463.50 bond.

--Gabrielle Williams, 21, St. Jude Avenue, New Iberia, was arrested at 9:07 a.m. on a warrant dated March 20 alleging disturbing the peace (fighting). Williams was booked, processed and released on a $468 bond.
