More marijuana arrests reported by St. Mary deputies

A string of marijuana arrests this week continued Thursday when the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office made three more. Deputies also made an arrest alleging home improvement fraud.

Patterson police arrested a man accused of speeding at more than 100 mph.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and made these arrests:

--Cedric Griffin, 40, Patterson, was arrested at 10:14 a.m. Thursday on two failure to appear warrants for the original charges of distribution of marijuana and simple criminal damage to property.

Bail has not been set.

--Anthony Trahan, 33, Erath, was arrested at 1:31 p.m. Thursday on two counts of home improvement fraud.

Bail has not been set at this time

--Kai'lynn Verrett, 26, Franklin, was arrested at 7:41 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Deondric Butler, 27, Franklin, was arrested at 7:41 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of window tint violation, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm in the presence of controlled dangerous substance.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Aries Keal, 39, Charenton, was arrested at 7:41 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on a charge of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Desarie Same, 30, New Iberia, was arrested, at 9:59 p.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of no license plate light, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of crack cocaine, resisting an officer, obstruction, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Patterson

Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Mikie L. Landry, 23, Mike Street, Pierre Part, was arrested at 8:21 p.m. Wednesday on charges of resisting arrest by flight, reckless operation, improper lane usage, passing in a no passing zone, speeding 60 mph in a 35 mph zone, speeding 100 mph in a 55 mph zone and stop sign violation.

Landry was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $1,950.

--Darrell Riggins Jr., 33, Columbus Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving with license suspended or revoked and speeding 48 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Riggins was issued a summons.

--Desiree E. Rebert, 37, Broussard Road, St. Martinville, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. Thursday on a charge of theft.

Rebert is currently incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

Morgan City

Interim Police Chief Mark E. Griffin Jr. reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 37 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Robert Earl Williams, 57, Grand Caillou Road, Houma, was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Christi Kelly, 44, Pond Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Friday on a charge of battery of a dating partner.

Franklin

Police Chief Morris Beverly reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to seven complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:

-- Jules Druilhet Jr., 48, Mitchell Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:51 a.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Druilhet was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
