MCPD makes arrests on drug, domestic, drunken driving charges

Morgan City police reported weekend arrests on domestic battery, drunken driving and heroin possession charges.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 121 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Racquel Delaune Barber, 48, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:32 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Martin Burris, 28, Willow Creek Drive, Vicksburg, Mississippi, was arrested at 3:14 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (second offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle, improper lane usage and driving under suspension.

--Mairon Ariel Ortega Morales, 28, Franklin Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:54 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

--Jose Garcia, 31, Emmerson Avenue, Houston, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle, possession of fraudulent documents, improper lane usage, no driver’s license and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle.

--Claude Moses Charlot, 31, Leonard Street, Patterson, was arrested at 5:37 a.m. Saturday on charges of home invasion and domestic abuse battery.

--Hector Tolento, 26, Judy Lane, Patterson, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Dakota James Lombas, 28, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:43 p.m. Saturday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Danielle Boutte, 39, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:40 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 99 complaints and made this arrest:

--Shawn Case Lovell Sr., 47, Berwick, was arrested at 9:14 p.m. Friday on charges of resisting arrest or officer, criminal trespass, disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail has not been set at this time.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Natosha Brinlee, 46, Franklin, was arrested at 1:06 p.m. Friday on a charge of theft of goods (under $500). Brinlee was released on bond.

--Shawn E.M. Lathum, 38, Orleans Avenue, New Iberia, was arrested at midnight Friday on charges of speeding 91 mph in a 55 mph zone, careless operation, expired motor vehicle sticker and expired driver’s license. Lathum was released on a summons.

--Cody J. Davis, 21, Homestead Lane, Patterson, was arrested at 12:35 a.m. Saturday on charges of suspended or revoked driver’s license and stop sign violation. Davis was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail.

--Quentin J. Cooper, 34, Poncio Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:26 a.m. Saturday on charges of speeding more than 25 mph and driver’s license suspended or revoked. Cooper was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail.

--Kaylan A. Burn, 34, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:36 p.m. Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense). Burns was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail.

--Nathan A. Lovell, III, 31, Riverview Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession of Schedule IV drugs (two counts), drug paraphernalia, and front lamps, side and rear reflectors on bicycles. Lovell was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail.

--Tina R. Franklin, 49 North Washington Street, Lafayette, was arrested at 2:06 a.m. Monday on a charge of possession of marijuana (less than 14 grams) and on a warrant from another jurisdiction. Franklin is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail.
