MC police make arrest in stalking, burglary case

The city’s Criminal Investigation Division has arrested a Baton Rouge resident in a stalking and burglary investigation involving a Morgan City resident, the Police Department said.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
--Blaine J. Sylvester, 22, Baton Rouge, was arrested Friday on warrants alleging two counts of simple burglary, two counts of video voyeurism and two counts of criminal trespassing.
Sylvester was arrested Friday on an outstanding warrant issued through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court on charges of stalking and criminal trespassing, based on the initial complaint received.
Over the course of the next several days, as the investigation continued, additional evidence was located after detectives executed a search warrant related to this case, the Police Department said.

--Nicholas Johnson, 22, Sparrow Street, New Iberia, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Monday on a charge of aggravated obstruction of highway.
--Nakia Anderson, 25, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:04 p.m. Monday on charges of aggravated assault, three counts of failure to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court) and probation violation.
--Osber Lopez-Sanchez, 24, Franklin Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. Monday on charges of speeding and no driver’s license. (Released on summons.)
--Crystal Williams, 64, Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:12 a.m. Saturday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. (Released on summons.)
--David Clements, 65, Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:12 a.m. Saturday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. (Released on summons.)
--Michael Smith, 49, Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:38 a.m. Sunday on a charge of hit and run. (Released on summons.)

Chief Cedric Handy reported this arrest.
--Derick Jackson, 39, La. 318, Jeanerette, was arrested at 4:46 p.m. Sunday charges of speeding, careless operation, no driver’s license, failure to register and possession of Schedule I drugs. Jackson was additionally arrested on warrants for Baldwin Magistrate Court alleging failure to appear on charges of careless operation and no driver’s license. Jackson was booked, processed and released on a $3,000 bond.
