Marijuana, weapon charges follow Morgan City arrest

Morgan City police reported a Tuesday arrest on drug and firearm possession charges.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 55 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Abram Marquis Granger Jr., 25, Fifth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, violation of a drug-free zone, illegal possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile and possession of drug paraphernalia.
--Christopher Sylvester Jr., 28, Pinecrest Drive, Pineville, was arrested at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of theft ($1,000).
--Alvin Robinson Jr. 50, Clothilde Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (16th Judicial District Court).
--Michael Lee Howard, 53, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:59 p.m. on charges of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court), resisting and officer and improper lighting.
Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:
--Donald R. Welch, 58, Joseph Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging neglect of family. Welch is current incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $21,856.38.
--Ridar B. Rosas, 41, Texas, was arrested at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday on charges of speeding 74 mph in a 55 mph zone, no driver’s license and expired motor vehicle inspection. Rosas is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $732.
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and made this arrest:
--Tony Joseph Gibson Sr., 60, Baldwin, was arrested at 7:58 p.m. Tuesday on charges of aggravated domestic abuse battery and aggravated battery. Bail was set at $30,000.
