Marijuana, theft arrests reported locally

Area law enforcement agencies reported 10 recent arrests on charges that include marijuana possession and theft.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Mario Verdun Jr., 47, K Street, Patterson, was arrested at 10 p.m. Thursday on two counts of failure to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Alyssa Louise Ashmore, 31, Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:33 p.m. Thursday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Antonio Bourgeois, 26, Theater Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

--Kourtni Korbriann Current, 26, Lily Street, Thibodaux, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. Friday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and as a fugitive from the Thibodaux Police Department.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to five complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Richard Randall, 57, Morris Street, Franklin, was arrested at 9:45 a.m. Thursday on warrants for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of driver must be licensed, no insurance, two headlights required and driver must be licensed. Randall was booked, processed, and held on $853.50 bond.

--Clayton Holland, 43, of Alpha Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:06 p.m. Thursday on a warrant dated Dec. 29 on two counts of theft and on a warrant dated Jan. 4 on a charge of theft. Holland was additionally arrested on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of leash law. Holland was booked, processed and held on a $4,500 bond.

Chitimacha

Chief B.C. Trahan reported these arrests:

--Juvenile male, 17, Franklin, was arrested Dec. 27 on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was released on a summons.

--Adrian J Bernard, 59, Choctaw Street, was arrested Dec. 26 on a charge of domestic abuse. He was transported to St Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Juvenile female, 15, Charenton, was arrested Dec. 27 on a charge of theft (over $500), curfew violation and driver's license required. She was released on a summons.

--Joseph L Antoine, 63, Dugas Street, St Martinville, was arrested Sunday on an active warrant alleging theft (under $1,000). He was released on a summons.
