Local authorities report more theft arrests

A string of recent theft cases continued this week with two arrests by Sheriff’s Office deputies and Morgan City police.
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and made these arrests:
--Amy Lyn Benoit, 34, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of introduction of contraband into a penal institution and conspiracy to distribute hydrocodone. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Carl Jude Trahan II, 30, Erath, was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail was set at $15,000.
--Eugenia Nirvana Hernandez-Nevejar, 24, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday on charges of theft and forgery. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Lonny Ray Baker Sr., 58, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday on warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of theft, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Bail has not been set at this time.
--Valerie Lynn Williamson, 45, Gibson, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of resisting an officer with force or violence and interfering with a law enforcement investigation. Bail was set at $8,000.
--Justin Anthony Singleton, 34, Houma, was arrested at 1:39 p.m. Tuesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and transactions involving drug proceeds. Bail was set at $100,000.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 42 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Lormanetra Letrell Skinner, 33, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday on charges of access device fraud and theft (under $1,000).
--Alvin Joseph Durapau Jr., 36, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Jacob Nathaniel Klenert, 30, South Everett Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan Court).
--Marvin Mitchell Williamson Jr., 59, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday on two counts of failure to appear for trial and four counts of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
