Local authorities make four battery arrests

Morgan City police and sheriff’s deputies made four arrests on battery charges this week.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
--Anthony Harris, 30, Arizona Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:34 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of simple battery.
--Kayln Gros, 37, Pecan Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of battery on a corrections officer.
--Belinda Bourque, 52, Lipari Street, Patterson, was arrested at 6:13 p.m. Monday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward City Court).
--Christopher Patterson, 27, Bush Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:05 p.m. Monday on charges of reckless operation of a vehicle and negligent injuring.
--Robert Norris, 37, Arenz Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:27 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:
--Melvin Williams Jr., 54, Franklin, was arrested at 3:38 p.m. Monday on a warrant alleging failure to appear for speeding and operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked or canceled. Williams was released on a $600 bond.
--Lucito Lawrence Romero, 42, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:36 p.m. Monday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of simple criminal damage to property and failure to register or failure to notify change of address of sex offender. Bail has not been set at of this time.
--Dayshawn Dewayne Short, 42, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:10 a.m. Monday on a charge of simple battery. Short continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
--Eddie Tyrone Mayfield, 41, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:10 a.m. Monday on a charge of simple battery. Mayfield continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported this arrest:
--Juvenile was arrested at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday on charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
