Local agencies report drug, domestic abuse arrests

St. Mary deputies and Morgan City police reported weekend arrests on domestic battery and drug possession charges. Patterson police also made a drug arrest.

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 144 complaints and made these arrests:

--Rosemberg Trevino Cabral, 29, Amelia, was arrested at 3:07 p.m. Friday on charges of domestic abuse battery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, battery of a dating partner and theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Shenia Renee Valere, 38, Covington, Georgia, was arrested at 4:29 a.m. Saturday on charges of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, criminal trespass and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Valere was released on a $15,000 bond.

--Minus Joseph Boiteaux, 50, Franklin, was arrested at 9:20 a.m. Saturday on charges of hit and run and resisting an officer by flight. Boiteaux was released on a $2,500 bond.

--Nicholas Scott Johnson, 20, Houma, was arrested at 12:42 a.m. Sunday on a charge of negligent injuring. Johnson also held warrants with other agencies. Bail on the SMPSO charge was set at $10,000.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 132 calls for service and made these arrests:

--Alexandra Ray Watkins, 39, Birch Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:54 p.m. Friday on charges of domestic abuse battery and simple assault.

--Jose A. Vazquez-Gomez, 31, Grove, Texas, was arrested at 1:24 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), improper lane usage, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, maximum speed limit and driver must be licensed.

--Cesar Lozano, 50, Garden Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:22 p.m. Saturday on a charge of operation without a permit.

--Jermey House, 18, Lagonda Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:15 a.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (drunkenness),

--Darnell Johnson, 48, Fourth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:04 a.m. Sunday on a charge of resisting an officer.

--Tyrome F. Thomas, 59, Florida Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. Sunday on charges of theft (under $1,000) and resisting an officer (false information).

--Ethan P. St. John, 34, Mobile, Alabama, was arrested at 1:03 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and disturbing the peace (drunkenness).

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Jonte D. Killough, 25, Leo Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 6:38 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of Xanax bars, resisting an officer (failure to comply), resisting an officer (refusal to give name or identification) and disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

Killough is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

--Charles A. Preece, 35, Deprima Street, Berwick, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. Monday on a Morgan City Police Department warrant . Preece was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail and released to the Morgan City Police Department.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--Mavis Pontiff, 49, Sunset Boulevard, New Iberia, was arrested at 7:24 a.m. Friday on a warrant dated March 21, 2018, alleging forgery. Pontiff was booked, processed and released to appear in 16th Judicial District Court.

--Sunnie Andrepont, 39, Fournerat Road, Eunice, was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Friday on two counts of theft. Andrepont was booked, processed, and held on a $3,000 bond.

--Kurt Chapman, 36, Magnolia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4:16 p.m. Sunday on charges of stop signs, suspended driver's license, switched license plate and no insurance. Chapman was booked, processed and released on a $2,000 bond.

--Debra Parker, 60, Ibert Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:26 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of operating a vehicle while license is suspended, and on warrants for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on the charges of suspended driver's license, no proof of insurance, loud music and theft.

Parker was additionally arrested on the charges of monetary instrument abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. Parker was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
