Local agencies make arrests on theft, domestic charges

(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

Area law enforcement agencies reported four arrests on theft charges in the last week. Three more people face charges of domestic abuse, and a Morgan City man is accused of possessing fentanyl in distribution quantities.

Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams
reported these arrests:

--Alan Barber, 21, South Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:03 p.m. Saturday on charges of theft (less than $1,000) and criminal trespassing.

--Stafford Robertson, 44, Fourth Street, Berwick, was arrested at 8:36 a.m. Friday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City).

--Destany Garrison, 31, Mallard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Mervin Thomas, 21, Utah Street, Berwick, was arrested at 9:07 p.m. Sunday on charges of domestic abuse battery and resisting an officer.

--Gordon Helman, 56, Uranus Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:46 a.m. Thursday on six counts of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Jonathan Perou, 22, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:06 p.m. Thursday on two counts of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Laqwajhia Bourgeois, 28, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Natosha Hillebran-Brinlee, 48, Prairie Road, Franklin, was arrested at 5:37 p.m. Thursday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Chris Broudreaux, 59, Catherine Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:57 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Ashley Jennies, 39, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:13 p.m. Aug. 19 on four counts of failure to appear for jail status (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

St. Mary Parish

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Kellie Sue Boudreaux, 43, Patterson, was arrested at 1:48 p.m. Friday on a warrant alleging theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Nathaniel Albert Rollins, 30, Patterson, was arrested at 1:48 p.m. Friday on two warrants alleging theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal trespass. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Tabitha Leigh Rollins, 54, Patterson, was arrested at 9:43 a.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of theft of goods. Rollins was released on a $2,500 bond.

--Joshua Robertson, 34, Morgan City, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 4:44 p.m. Aug. 19 on charges of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Derek Paul Mayea, 44, Garden City, was arrested at 11:09 a.m. Friday on a warrant alleging cruelty to animals. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Damian Paul Mayea, 44, Franklin, was arrested at 11:05 a.m. Friday on a warrant alleging cruelty to animals. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Robert Stansbury Jr., 42, Berwick, was arrested at 12:44 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Alejandro Valero Gutierrez, 40, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:01 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Quincy Jacoby Jones, 39, Franklin, was arrested at 9:21 a.m. Aug 19 on a charge of battery of a correctional officer. Jones continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--John Joseph Demarco, 36, Franklin, was arrested at 3:23 p.m. Aug. 19 on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids, obstruction of justice (tampering), and resisting an officer.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Daniel Joseph Aucoin Jr., 40, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:03 p.m. Aug. 19 on a charge of resisting an officer by giving false information and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of simple battery, resisting an officer by providing false information and domestic abuse battery (strangulation). Bail has not been set at this time.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Nylan Favors, 23, Patterson, was arrested at 5:05 p.m. Friday a charge of simple battery while incarcerated at the Patterson Police Department on unrelated charges. Favors was booked, processed and held on a $2,000 bond in addition to his previous set bond.

--Darius Preston, 27, Patterson, was arrested at 5:05 p.m. Friday on a charge of simple battery while incarcerated at the Patterson Police Department on unrelated charges. Preston was booked, processed and held on a $2,000 bond in addition to his previous set bond.

--Monica Pollard, 62, Patterson, was arrested at 6:12 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for the Patterson Police Department on a charge of criminal damage to property. Pollard was booked, processed and released on a $577 bond

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:

--Daniel J. Plaisance Jr., 37, Claiborne Street, Pierre Part, was arrested Aug. 19 on charges of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment) and resisting an officer.

--Amanda K. Fontenot, 45, Claiborne Street, Pierre Part, was arrested Aug. 19 on a charge of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment).

The charges arose from an incident at a business east of Paincourtville.

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a disturbance and made contact with the parties involved, now identified as Plaisance and Fontenot. Deputies initiated an investigation and received information indicating that Plaisance and Fontenot had engaged in a physical altercation.

Deputies observed Plaisance threatening Fontenot. At the time of the incident, there was a minor present.

At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies determined that Plaisance and Fontenot were in a domestic relationship at the time of this incident and had engaged in the crime of domestic abuse battery upon each other.

Plaisance and Fontenot were booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending bond hearings.

Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy
reported these arrests:

--Lee Butler, 59, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 1:23 p.m. Friday on a charge of theft. Butler was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.

--LaQuisha Davis, 36, Cayce Street, Franklin, was arrested at 3:09 a.m. Sunday on a warrant dated Oct. 20, alleging simple assault, cyberstalking, and intimidation and interference in the operation of schools. Davis was booked, processed and held on a $6,000 bond.

--Jamie Jones, 49, Third Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:33 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving under suspension. Jones was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.

--Carl Joseph Jr., 32, Curtis Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 3:59 p.m. Sunday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. Joseph was booked, processed and held on a $500 bond.

--Kurt Chapman, 39, Magnolia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:48 a.m. Aug. 19 on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of remaining where forbidden. Chapman was booked, processed and released on a $610 bond.

--Keanan Gauthier, 27, L Dubois Road, New Iberia, was arrested at 12:50 p.m. Aug. 19 on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of driving under suspension, no insurance and expired license plate. Gauthier was booked, processed and released on a $413 bond.

--Antoine Jones, 36, Georgetown Road, Franklin, was arrested at 10:54 a.m. Thursday on charges of proper equipment display of plate required on vehicles, turning movements and required signals, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute
synthetic marijuana, and transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, and on a warrant alleging parole violation. Jones was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
