Kidnapping, drug possession alleged in local arrests

Morgan City officers made an arrest on a kidnapping charge Thursday, while St. Mary deputies reported an arrest alleging methamphetamine possession.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Hope Cubbedge, 45, Morgan City, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 9:49 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of meth and careless operation of a motor vehicle. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Ryan Michael Ritcher, 27, Franklin, was arrested at 1:20 p.m. Jan. 17 on charges of resisting arrest or officer, theft and domestic abuse battery by strangulation, and on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Bail has not been set at this time.

--Nathaniel Albert Rollins, 28, Patterson, was arrested at 9:38 p.m. Jan. 17 on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Darrell Claude Traylor Jr., 29, Jeanerette, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of theft (less than $1,000). Bail has not been set at this time.

--Travis Theopolis Sophus, 40, Franklin, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. Jan. 17 on a warrant alleging two counts of battery of a correctional officer. Sophus continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Ena Simone Daigle, 54, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine; possession of hydrocodone; possession of Ambien; possession, sale, or distribution of a legend drug without a prescription; possession of drug paraphernalia; and improper lane usage.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Ronald James Winslow Sr., 65, Berwick, was arrested at 6:56 p.m. Tuesday on charges of reckless operation (no accident), open container and driving while intoxicated. Bail was set at $3,500.

--Michael Edward Hanson, 62, Franklin, was arrested at 4 p.m. Thursday on charges of simple assault and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). Bail has not been set at this time.

--Trevor Joseph Landry, 25, Pierre Part, was arrested at 8:14 p.m. Wednesday on charges of driving while intoxicated and simple assault. Bail was set at $2,500.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported this arrest:

--Fred Purnell Kenner, 38, Grace Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11 p.m. Thursday on charges of simple kidnapping, violation of a protective order, criminal trespass, obstruction of justice and disturbing the peace, and as a fugitive from the 16th Judicial District Court.
