Juvenile arrested in Franklin shooting; drug arrests reported in Berwick, St. Mary, Assumption

Franklin police they've arrested a juvenile on attempted murder charges in a Wednesday night shooting that wounded one person.

St. Mary and Assumption deputies and Berwick police made arrests on drug possession charges.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:

--A juvenile was arrested at 6:47 p.m. Thursday on two counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile and on a warrant alleging principal to aggravated battery, principal to terrorizing and two counts of simple battery.

About 10:11 p.m. Wednesday, the Franklin Police Department responded to several calls of shots fired in the area of Ninth Street.

Officers located a wrecked vehicle and one victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

--Dorian Linscomb, 49, Eves Street, Jeanerette, was arrested at 2:55 p.m. Thursday on a charge of careless operation. Linscomb was booked, processed and released on a $263 bond.

Berwick

Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:

--Merlin Boudreaux, 46, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage and modified exhaust.

About 10:30 p.m. Thursday, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after a lane violation was observed on U.S. 90. Officers made contact with the driver, who was identified as Boudreaux.

A search of Boudreaux’s vehicle was conducted, and ethamphetamine, marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia were located. It was also learned that Boudreaux had a modified exhaust system on the vehicle.

Boudreaux was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 56 complaints and made these arrests:

--Robert Bradley Stark, 40, Westlake, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. Thursday on charges of failure to report accident, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest or officer. Bail was set at $2,500.

--Anthony Joe Pinell, 35, Franklin, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Thursday on a Jeanerette Police Department warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of home invasion and simple assault. Pinell was turned over to Jeanerette Police Department.

--Kaitlyn Renea Beadle, 27, Amelia, was arrested at 10:43 a.m. Thursday on for possession of drug paraphernalia, simple burglary, and possession of stolen things. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Amanda Maria Rudolph, 36, Baldwin, was arrested at 3:44 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of MDMA, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehcile without a driver's license.

Rudolph was released on her own recognizance with a court date of Feb. 25.

--Tamika Beatrice Bias, 48, Amelia, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of issuing worthless checks. Bail was set at $2,500.

--Kenneth John Scott III, 25, Patterson, was arrested at 6:26 p.m. Wednesday on charges of home invasion and simple assault. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Edd Lee Delatte, 56, Pierre Part, was arrested at 8:41 p.m. on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (drug-free zone), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, driving under suspension and resisting an officer by flight.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 47 calls for service made these arrests:

--Yesser N. Ramirez, 18, Keith Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of unlawful possession of tobacco products and a warrant alleging failure to appear (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Klinton Payne, 42, Cadet, Missouri, was arrested at 8:41 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of failure to appear (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Jackolby Vinning, 24, Vind Drive, Morgan Cityl was arrested at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday on charges of domestic abuse battery (pregnant victim) and domestic abuse battery.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Sam Mykal Rosette, 19, Hilda Street, Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and resisting an officer.

The arrest followed a traffic incident and pursuit on U.S. 90 in the Amelia area.

A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a westbound vehicle on U.S. 90 commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. As the deputy attempted the stop, the suspect driver sped off.

The suspect vehicle continued into St. Mary Parish and stopped at some point, and two occupants fled on foot. The deputy was able to arrest the passenger, now identified Rosette.

As a result of the investigation by deputies and narcotics officers, deputies seized multiple packages of suspected marijuana.

Rosette was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

Deputies secured arrest warrants for the driver, identified as Colby Tyree Nicholas, 23, Carmen Street, Patterson, alleging possession of with intent to distribute marijuana, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer, driving under a suspended license, failure to drive on the right side of the roadway and speeding 84 mph in a 70 mph zone.
