Hit-and-run, drug arrests reported in Morgan City

Morgan City police reported two arrests Monday on hit-and-run charges and two on drug-related charges.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 30 calls for service and made these arrests:
--Jimmy Davis, 42, Homestead Lane, Patterson, was arrested at 9:17 a.m. Monday on a charge of hit and run.
--David L. Vargas, 44, Hilda Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. Monday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
--David A. Picou, 77, Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Monday on a charge of hit and run.
--Todd E. Aucoin, 55, Hilda Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Monday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, illegal carrying of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
--Eric S. Gaskins, 52, Duke Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Monday on charges of improper lighting, resisting and officer and three counts of battery on an officer.
St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 148 complaints and made this arrest:
--Troy Russell Billiot, 36, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Monday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of violation of a protective order. Bail has not been set at this time.
