Franklin man accused of assaulting investigator

A Franklin man was arrested Friday, accused of assaulting a Sheriff’s Office investigator.
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:
--David Silas Leonard Jr., 31, Franklin, was arrested at 2:10 p.m. Friday on a charge of aggravated assault on an officer.
On Thursday afternoon, September 24, 2026, a deputy and an investigator with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office traveled to a local business in the Ricohoc area to complete a summons arrest on a subject. While speaking with the subject, a family member of the subject, identified as Leonard, exited the business and began yelling obscenities and making direct threats of physical harm toward the investigator, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Through the incident, continued to yell obscenities and advanced toward the investigator in a threatening manner. He was physically restrained and held back by the family member, preventing further escalation.
On Friday, a detective obtained an active warrant for the arrest of Leonard for RS 14:37.2, aggravated assault on a police officer, in connection with the altercation. An SMPSO detective contacted Leonard by phone, advised him of the active warrant, and requested that he turn himself in.
A short time later, Leonard surrendered himself at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, where he was booked on the active warrant. Leonard was released on a $1,500 bond.
--Daneisha Quanshe Jackson, 23, Berwick, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Sunday on a charge of theft. Bail was set at $5,000.
--Gary Kirkland Javon Semien, 30, Franklin, was arrested at 6:31 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of stolen things. Bail was set at $7,500.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
--Nigel Singleton, 33, Canary Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:04 p.m. Thursday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--John Scott Ryker, 65, Susan Drive Morgan City, was arrested at 8:06 p.m. Sept. 23 on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense).
--Darren Watson, 62, Lloyd Lane, Amelia, was arrested at 8:29 p.m. Sept. 23 on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense).
--Danisha Raby, 35, La. 16, Denham Springs, was arrested at 9 p.m. Sept. 23 as a fugitive from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
--Sam Mykal Rosette, 22, Hilda Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:22 p.m. Sept. 23 on charges of possession of marijuana, headlights required and failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:
--Eugene Leblanc, 31, Patterson, was arrested at 11:22 a.m. Sept. 18 on charges of possession of Schedule I drugs, violation of controlled dangerous substance law; drug-free zone; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Leblanc was additionally charged with obscenity.
Leblanc was booked, processed and released on a $13,000 bond.
--Ja'Kirri Guerrero, 18, Patterson, was arrested at 11:23 a.m. Sept. 18 on charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, violation of controlled dangerous substance law; drug-free zone; and obstruction of justice.
Guerrero was booked, processed and released on a $15,000 bond.
--Jermond Johnson, 49, Patterson, was arrested at 2:16 p.m. Sept. 19 on a charge of remaining where forbidden. Johnson was booked, processed and released on a $346 bond.
--Eris Robinson Jr. 21, Patterson, was arrested at 5:31 p.m. Sept. 19 on a charge of simple battery. Robinson was booked, processed and released and on a $469 bond.
--Kayla Broussard, 19, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:54 p.m. Sept. 19 on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Broussard was released to appear in Mayor's Court.
--Caihri Wilson, 23, Houma, was arrested at 6:54 p.m. Sept. 19 on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Wilson was released to appear in Mayor's Court.
--Kayla Dugas, 27, Patterson, was arrested at 7:58 p.m. Sept. 22 on a charge of nonconsensual disclosure of a private image. Dugas was booked, processed and transferred to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center with a $7,500 bond.
--Jakyius Payton, 22, Franklin, was arrested at 1:42 p.m. Thursday on a Patterson Police Department warrant alleging domestic abuse battery-child endangerment and simple criminal damage to property. Payton was additionally arrested on a Franklin Police Department warrant
alleging hit and run, criminal damage to property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and driver must be licensed. Payton was booked, processed and held on a $22,500 bond.
--Sindy Galeas, 24, New Iberia, was arrested at 8:22 p.m. Thursday on charges of no license plate, no insurance and no driver's license. Galeas was booked, processed and released to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
--Yeferson Perez, 19, New Iberia, was arrested at 8:22 p.m. Thursday charges of wrong way on highway and no driver's license. Perez was booked, processed and released to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
--Jeferson Ortega, 23, Patterson, was arrested at 12:48 a.m. Friday on charges of improper lane usage, no driver's license and no insurance. Ortega was booked, processed and released to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:
--Rochelle Bolden, 34, Fox Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 9:53 a.m. Sunday on a warrant dated Feb. 5, 2019, on a charge of aggravated battery. Bolden was booked, processed and held on a $10,000 bond.
--Mario Hector, 39, Canal Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 8:20 p.m. Thursday on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of improper driving left of center of roadway, operating a vehicle while license is suspended and failure to maintain automobile
liability insurance. Hector was booked, processed and held on a $1,000 bond.
--Ben Sanchez, 22, Mary Garret Road, Baldwin, was arrested at 11:10 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on the charge of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance. Sanchez was additionally
arrested on a charge of resisting an officer.
Sanchez was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
