Five arrested in prostitution investigation

Five people have been arrested after an investigation into internet sites used to promote prostitution, Morgan City police said.

The five were arrested Thursday. The Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division conducted the operation targeting people soliciting prostitution.

"The purpose of the operation aimed to combat prostitution while possibly protecting minors from sexual exploitation," the Police Department said.

"The investigation targeted specific internet sites used in the promotion of ads to purchase sexual services or utilized for Human Trafficking."

Arrested were:

--Joelle Cunningham, 40, Glemore Avenue, Houma, was arrested at 11:52 a.m. Thursday on charges of prostitution, possession methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, and as a fugitive from the 17th Judicial District Court and the 32nd Judicial District Court.

--Denise Nicole Blanchard Dillion, 25, Marietta Place, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:02 p.m. Thursday on a charge of prostitution.

--Patrick Mitague, 36, Lazy R. Road. Convington, was arrested at 12:38 p.m. Thursday on charges of solicitation of prostitution and possession of Suboxone.

--Blair Chauvin, 36, Lewald Drive, Houma, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Thursday on a charge of prostitution.

--Nicolas Fitch, 42, Ash Street, Houma, was arrested 5:30 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
