Eight arrests reported by local agencies

Local law enforcement agencies reported eight arrests Wednesday and early Thursday, including three by Morgan City police on drug charges.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 39 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Destiny Young, 28, Ramos Street, Amelia, was arrested at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday on charges of turning signals required, no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.
--Stephanie Manjarrez, 32, Belanger Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:17 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana (first offense).
--Johnny Giroir, 54, River Road, Berwick, was arrested at 8:24 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and turning signals required.
--Sarah Bran, 39, Hogan Street, Berwick, was arrested at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana (first offense) and obstruction of a public passage.
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 40 complaints and made these arrests:
--Barbara Butler Smith, 64, Patterson, was arrested at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday on charges of driving on roadway laned for traffic, driving while intoxicated, littering, failure to change address within 10 days and open container.
Smith was released on a $4,250 bond.
--Richard John Blanchard, 51, Montegut, was arrested at 2:36 a.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated, license plate lights required and improper lane usage. Bail has not been set at this time.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 15 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
--Danielle Wiltz, 38, West Ibert Street, Franklin, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Wiltz was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.
--Ariana Hixon, 26, Gum Street, Franklin, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Hixon was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.
