Drug, fighting charges in local arrests this week

St. Mary deputies reported two arrests this week on drug charges, and Berwick officers booked four teenagers after a fight at school.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and made these arrests:

--Breanna Lynn Hillebran, 25, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute synthetic cannabinoids, possession with intent to distribute alprazolam, possession of Schedule III drugs and transactions involving drug proceeds.

--Theron Batiste Jr., 47, Houston, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. Wednesday by the Narcotics Division on charges of maximum speed limit, possession of marijuana, possession of MDMA, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Ray Jovan Robertson, 34, Baldwin, was arrested at 11:21 a.m. Wednesday for a probation violation. Bail was set at $5,000.

--Darrell Jason Sides, 49, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:08 p.m. Wednesday on charges of reckless operation (no accident), driving while intoxicated and open container. Bail has not been set at this time.

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Arrie Sam, 18, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:19 p.m. Wednesday by the Narcotics Division on charges of illegal possession of stolen firearms, license plate lights required and failure to give proper signal, and on a warrant alleging theft of a motor vehicle

Bail has not been set at this time.

Berwick

Chief David S. Leonard reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Berwick Police Department made these arrests:

--Juvenile female, 16, was arrested at 8:34 a.m. Monday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Juvenile female, 15, was arrested at 8:34 a.m. Monday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Juvenile female, 14, was arrested at 8:34 a.m. Monday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

--Juvenile female, 14, was arrested at 8:34 a.m. Monday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting).

About 7:34 a.m. Monday, the Berwick Police Department was advised by the school resource officer about a fight involving several juveniles that took place at one of the schools. Through investigation, four juveniles were arrested. All were transported to the Berwick Police Department, where they were booked and released to guardians pending a court hearing.

--Juvenile male, 16, was arrested at 10:49 a.m. Monday on charges of unlawful sale or purchase of tobacco products and disturbing the peace.

At 10:30 a.m. Monday, the Berwick Police Department received a call about a student at one of the local schools causing a verbal disturbance with faculty and other students of the school. It was also learned that the juvenile was in possession of a tobacco product vape.

The juvenile was placed under arrest by the school resource officer and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked and released to a guardian pending a court hearing.

--Anthony Cargo, 35, Berwick, was arrested at 10:40 p.m. Monday on a Morgan City warrant alleging failure to appear.

At 10:30 p.m. Monday, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after a traffic violation was observed. During the course of the stop, officers made contact with Cargo and learned that he had an active warrant through the Morgan City Police Department.

Cargo was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department for booking.

--Tayler Davis, 25, Duson, was arrested at 1 a.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), driving under suspension and tail lamps.

About 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed to not have proper tail lights. Officers made contact with Davis and learned that his license was suspended.

Davis was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Davis was placed under arrest and released on a summons to appear in court.

--Keisha Howard, 48, Berwick, at 2:01 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of violation of a protective order.

--Don Williams, 46, Patterson, was arrested at 2:01 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of violation of a protective order (second offense).

About 1:32 a.m. Tuesday, the Berwick Police Department responded to a residence in reference to a disturbance. It was learned that Williams and Howard had active protective orders against each other.

Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where they were booked on the above charges.

--Ericka Cuvillier, 34, Berwick, was arrested at 8 p.m. Tuesday on a Plaquemines Parish warrant alleging identity theft.

About 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Berwick Police Department was contacted by investigators with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office, who advised that their agency held active warrants for Cuvillier and requested for officers to make contact with her. About 8 p.m., officers located Cuvillier at her residence. where she was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Berwick Police Department. She was booked on the warrant.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to eight complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:

--Jerry Hall, 62, Hogan Lane, Franklin, was arrested at 1:32 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of battery of a dating partner. Hall was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
