Drug, battery charges among arrests this week

St. Mary and Morgan City authorities reported arrests this week on drug, hit-and-run and battery charges.

Franklin police arrested a man accused of home invasion, battery and assault.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 77 calls for service over the last 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Terry Kent, 55, Woodrow Road, Covington, was arrested at 4:26 p.m. Monday on a charge of hit and run.

--Delbert Madise, 49, Union Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:12 p.m. Monday on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana (second offense), possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, resisting an officer, improper lane usage and lights required.

--Sarah Bran, 39, Hogan Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of contempt of court (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Abram Granger, 26, Fifth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:38 p.m. Monday on a charge of remaining where forbidden.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 64 complaints and made these arrests:

--Ricky Lynn Champagne Jr., 19, Jeanerette, was arrested at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday on charges of theft and violation of protective orders. Champagne was released on a $4,000 bond.

--Randolph Anthony Joseph, 33, Franklin, was arrested at 6:46 p.m. Monday on a Morgan City Police Department warrant. Joseph is being held for another agency.

--Chad Mitchell Ferguson, 31, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:18 p.m. Monday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of theft and entry on or remaining in places or on land after being forbidden. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Deshawn Jamall Sylvester, 27, Berwick, was arrested at 1:27 p.m. Monday on a charge of second-degree battery. Sylvester remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Chad Michael Scott, 44, Thibodaux, was arrested at 1:13 p.m. Monday on two warrants alleging failure to appear. Bail has not been set at this time.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 23 calls for service over the last 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Tajhia Tillman, 25, 12th Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:53 p.m. Monday on charges of speeding and two counts resisting an officer. Tillman was booked, processed and released on a $5,500 bond.

--Ratrina Bean, 44, Ibert Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Monday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of speeding, no proof of insurance and expired motor vehicle inspection. Bean was booked, processed and released on a $593 bond.

--Raymond Comeaux, 54, Franklin, was arrested at 9:52 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant dated Nov. 2 alleging for home invasion, two counts of simple assault, second-degree battery, domestic abuse battery with serious bodily injury and simple battery.
Comeaux was additionally arrested on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Comeaux was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Anson Paul, 48, Liner Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:08 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant dated May 21 alleging simple robbery, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon and simple battery. Paul was booked, processed and held on a $55,000 bond.

--Mai Francis, 26, Lee Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:32 p.m. Monday on charges of battery of a dating partner (child endangerment) and simple assault. Francis was booked, processed and held on a $7,500 bond.
