Domestic abuse, child endangerment alleged in arrests

Morgan City and Franklin police reported domestic abuse arrests Monday, both with child endangerment enhancements.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 34 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:

--Quentin Cooper, 33, Poncio Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:33 p.m. Monday on charges of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment law), domestic abuse battery (aggravated assault), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of criminal damage to property, obstruction of justice and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to seven complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:

--Shon Wilson, 23, Main Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:07 p.m. Monday on two counts of domestic abuse battery (strangulation, child endangerment). Wilson was additionally arrested on warrants for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on the charges of speeding, driver must be licensed, no child restraint, no registration, expired license plate, tail lamps and no driver's license on person.

Wilson was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
