Domestic abuse charges in arrests across region

(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

Domestic abuse charges resulted from arrests by St. Mary and Assumption deputies and Patterson and Franklin police since late last week.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 112 complaints and made these arrests:

--Daniel Gerson Lara-Arias, 36, Amelia, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Friday and on a charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail was set at $5,000.

--Deanna Irene Lutcher, 60, Jeanerette, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Thursday on a charge of theft. Bail was set at $2,000.

--Dicie Elizabeth Gutierrez, 40, Patterson, was arrested at 4:13 p.m. Thursday on charges of simple criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace (language) and simple assault. Bail was set at $5,000.

--Henry Wayne Truelove Jr., 39, Charenton, was arrested at 6:24 p.m. Thursday on a charge of violation of protective orders. Bail was set at $5,000.

--Garland Joseph Romero, 37, Patterson, was arrested at 10:58 p.m. Friday on a charge of parole violation. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Henry Joseph Pierce, 46, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:58 a.m. Friday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of criminal neglect of family, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pierce also was named in two MCPD warrants alleging improper lane usage and driving under suspension. Bail was set at $62, 616.

--Misty Lynn Gaudet, 36, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:37 a.m. Friday on four warrants alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession of heroin. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Danny Michael Fulks Jr., 39, Franklin, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 6:36 p.m. Thursday on charges of criminal trespass and resisting an officer. Fulks also held two SMPSO warrants for the charges of unauthorized entry of inhabited dwelling and criminal trespass.

Fulks was named in two MCPD warrants alleging failure to appear on two counts of driving under suspension, open containers, no insurance, contempt of court, no vehicle registration, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane usage.

Bail was set at $20,336.

--Jason Driskill, 53, Patterson, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 3:26 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of possession of methamphetamine, possession of synthetic marijuana and two counts of illegal carrying of weapons.

Bail was set at $23,500.

--Kristie Lee McNabb, 42, Patterson, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 3:26 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $1,000.

--Lacey Yates, 41, Patterson, LA, was arrested by the Narcotics Section at 3:26 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $1,000.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 154 calls for service over the last 96-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Jalisa Stewart, 36, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:46 p.m. Friday on charges of theft (under $1,000) and counterfeit cellular devices.

--Gary Loy Arthur Draper, 52, Tuts Lane, Gibson, was arrested at 10:13 a.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Haylie Tabor, 21, Willard Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. Saturday on charges of disturbing the peace and remaining where forbidden.

--Keelta Lasha Junifer, 24, Palm Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:05 p.m. Saturday on a charge of allowing dogs to roam. (Released on summons.)

--Donald Ray Turner Jr., 42, Adams Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:13 p.m. Thursday on charges of negligent carrying of a firearm and disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Christopher J. Adams, 50, Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, was arrested at 9:28 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and improper lane usage.

--Jamaar Cardell Harris, 27, Grandwood Street, Patterson, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana, no driver’s license and failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Ireaf Lee Mitchell, 20, Gen. Patton Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:48 p.m. Friday on charges of obstruction of justice and resisting an officer.

--Tyler Nicole Lantier, 31, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:48 a.m. Friday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported this arrest:

--Michael Francise, 65, La. 182, Patterson, was arrested at 1:36 p.m. Thursday on a charge of battery of a dating partner. Francise was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with no bond set.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:

--Taylor Rene Culverson, 31, Rayne Court, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Saturday on four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

The charges arise from an incident in Bayou L’Ourse early Saturday morning.

Deputies were dispatched to the Rayne Court address in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Deputies made contact with the complainant, who advised that he and his spouse, now identified as Culverson, were engaged in a dispute over a personal matter when she produced a gun, pointed it at him and communicated threats towards him.

The deputy made contact with Culverson and, at the conclusion of the investigation, took her into custody. At the time of the incident, there were three minor children present.

Culverson was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention pending a bond hearing.

--Drake Joseph Geisler, 30, of Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Oct. 15 charges of prohibited acts Schedule IV, prohibited acts Schedule II, prohibited acts Schedule IV, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute alprazolam , possession with intent to distribute heroin and resisting an officer, and on a Probation and Parole detainer.

A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle parked in a location that appeared to be suspicious. The deputy observed a male subject exiting from around the rear of a business and get into a vehicle.

The deputy gave lawful orders to the suspect now identified Geisler, but the suspect refused to comply. Geisler was eventually taken into custody.

The deputy summoned a K-9 to the location. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle exterior and alerted positive to the presence of illegal narcotics. During a search of that vehicle, deputies located heroin, methamphetamine multiple doses of alprazolam (Xanax) and numerous doses of sublingual sleep strips.

Geisler remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 34 calls for service over the weekend and made these arrests:

--Kenneth Franklin, 24, Southdown Road, Houma, was arrested at 3:29 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office alleging domestic abuse battery and violation of protective orders. Franklin was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Barry Jackson, 43, Trowbridge Street, Franklin, was arrested at 7:14 p.m. Saturday on charges of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, violation of protective orders, disturbing the peace (language) and resisting an officer. Jackson was booked, processed and held on a $23,500 bond.

--Michael Leonard, 45, Hamm Street, Franklin, was arrested at 6:25 p.m. Friday on a warrant dated Sept. 28, on a charge of simple assault. Leonard was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.

--Blaine Uze, 44, Becnel Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:19 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for 1st Judicial Circuit of Pope County, Illinois, alleging probation violation. Uze was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Patricia St. Martin, 62, Cayce Street, Franklin, was arrested at 9:42 p.m. Sunday on a charge of simple criminal damage to property. St. Martin was booked, processed and held on a $1,000 bond.

--Daquincy Walton, 23, Willow Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. Sunday on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Walton was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Ben Sanchez, 20, Mary Garrett Road, Baldwin, arrested at 10:48 p.m. Sunday on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Sanchez was additionally arrested on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance. Sanchez was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
