Deputies: Morgan City burglary suspect found in horse trailer

Assumption deputies say they found a man wanted for burglary hiding in a horse trailer.
Assumption
Sheriff Leland Falcon reported these arrests:
--Steven James Morris, 37, Doris Street, Morgan City, was arrested Friday on a felony fugitive warrant from St. Mary Parish alleging simple burglary.
On Friday, deputies assigned to the I.C.E. detail learned of the whereabouts of Morris and were aware of the existence of a warrant for Morris’ arrest.
Information indicated that Morris was at the time hiding in a horse trailer on Velma Court.
Deputies arrived at Velma Court and located Morris in the horse trailer.
Morris was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and transferred to the custody St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on Saturday.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
--Phillip Brunet, 32, Houma, was arrested at 12:54 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen property and driving under suspension.
-- Wendy Marie Steele, 46, Glenwood Drive, Houma, was arrested at 12:54 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 12 complaints over the weekend and made these arrests:
--Michael Schexnider, 52, Cayce Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:28 a.m. Saturday on charges of no turn signal and driving under suspension. Schexnider was additionally arrested on warrants for 6th Ward Morgan City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of speeding, expired license plate and driver must be licensed. Schexnider was booked, processed and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.
--Leonard Marsh, 58, Joseph Street, Baldwin, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. Saturday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of an alcoholic beverage in motor vehicle and one-way roadways. Marsh was booked processed, and released on a $3,000 bond.
