Deputies make two arrests on charges of illegal use of weapons

St. Mary deputies made two arrests this week on charges of illegal use of weapons.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 62 complaints and made these arrests:

--Jose Carlos Baeza, 41, Houston, was arrested at 9:46 p.m. Thursday on a charge of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Ashlee Allan Miller Sr., 43, Franklin, was arrested at 8:03 a.m. Thursday on a charge of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. Miller continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Jamason Austin, 23, Houma, was arrested at 12:19 a.m. Friday on a Morgan City Police Department warrant alleging unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Austin is being held for another agency.

--Timothy Terrell Humphrey Jr., 36, Amelia, was arrested at 8:03 a.m. Thursday on a charge of simple battery. Humphrey continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Damien Aurelius Hale, 33, Franklin, was arrested at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday on charges of entry or remaining on premises after being forbidden and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). Bail has not been set at this point.

--Blaze Michael Charpentier, 35, Franklin, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Wednesday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of battery of a dating partner and domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Blake Joseph Antoine, 36, New Iberia, was arrested at 1:37 a.m. Thursday on a charge of simple criminal damage to property. Bail has not been set at this point.

Morgan City

Chief Chad Adams reported that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 88 calls for service and made these arrests:

--Nicholas A. Feliciano, 38, Allison Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9 a.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging two counts of battery on an officer.

--Amber R. Taylor, 34, Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:29 p.m. Thursday on a warrant alleging failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--John Ashmore, 52, Amelia Street, Morgan City, was arrested on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana and disturbing the peace (intoxicated).

--Dayshon Terrell Pete, 20, Lizabeth Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Wednesday on a probation violation (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to seven complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Ahtajday Phillips, 22, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 8:57 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant dated Oct. 8, 2022, alleging attempted second-degree murder. Phillips was additionally arrested on the charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal carrying of weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. Phillips was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Henry Dennis, Jr., 39, Curtis Drive, Franklin, while incarcerated at the Franklin Police Department, was arrested at 11:29 a.m. Wednesday on a charges of bank fraud and felony theft. Dennis was booked, processed and released on a $10,000 bond.

--Jonah Madison, 29, Second Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:32 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant dated Oct. 16 alleging four counts of criminal mischief and disturbing the peace (alarming the public). Madison was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Allen Joseph Landry, 23, Cyril Street, Pierre Part, was arrested Wednesday on a Probation and Parole warrant and on charges of driving under suspension and turning movements and signals required.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle on La. 70 in the vicinity of Paul Street commit a traffic violation and stopped that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Landry and engaged Landry in an interview.

The deputy determined that Landry was driving under a suspended driver’s license. The deputy conducted a warrants check on Landry which also determined that Landry was wanted on a Probation and Parole warrant from the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

Landry was on probation for a felony conviction of possession of methamphetamine.

Landry was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Wednesday evening and is being held without bond on probartion violation.
