Deputies make arrests in Bayou Vista burglaries

St. Mary deputies have arrested a Morgan City man in a Bayou Vista burglary case.
'
Bobby Lee Aucoin, 35, was arrested at 5:55 p.m. Friday on charges of criminal trespass, attempted theft, resisting an officer and three counts of simple burglary.

Earlier this month, deputies answered a call about a Bayou Vista burglary, gathered evidence and began an investigation, the Sheriff's Office said.

Their findings were handed over to the Sheriff's Office Investigations Division, which developed Aucoin as a suspect in burglaries.

On Friday, a detective located Aucoin and brought him in for questioning regarding burglaries that had occurred in Bayou Vista. During the interview, Aucoin admitted to being involved in the burglaries, the Sheriff's Office said.

He was arrested and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set at this time
