Deputies make arrest in Centerville shooting incident

St. Mary deputies arrested a Franklin man after a shots-fired incident in Centerville.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:

--Shane Glen King, 48, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, resisting arrest or officer, and threatening a public official.

About 6:07 p.m. Tuesday, deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a residence on Lake Road in Centerville. A complainant reported that an individual discharged a firearm while driving away from the scene.

Using a description of the vehicle and the suspect’s identity, deputies located the vehicle on La. 87 in Franklin a short time later. A traffic stop was conducted, and the subject, identified as King, was taken into custody without further incident. King was subsequently transported to the

St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

Bail was set at $155,000.

--Joey Viltz, 61, Jeanerette, was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of disturbing the peace (language). Bail was set at $250.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:

--Samuel Rebardi, 30, Lee Street, Patterson, was arrested at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward City Court).

--Keith Singleton, 58, Bowman Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward City Court).

--Danayre Smith, 31, Burchfield Lane, Berwick, was arrested at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of obstructing public passages and disturbing the peace.

--Zachary Thomas, 29, Market Street, Raceland St., was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

--Quincy Johnson, 32, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Monday as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
