Deputies make armed robbery arrest after incident at Franklin business

St. Mary deputies on Tuesday arrested a man accused of damaging property at a Franklin business while he was armed.

Morgan City officers made a domestic battery arrest, while Franklin police detained suspects on charges of battery on a police officer and assault with a firearm.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 30 complaints and made these arrests:

--Randolph Anthony Joseph, 32, Franklin, was arrested at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday on charges of aggravated armed robbery (with weapon), criminal damage to property and disturbing the peace (violent and tumultuous manner).

At 4:16 a.m. Tuesday deputies were dispatched to a business in Franklin for an armed subject who was I the business destroying the merchandise. Deputies made contact with the subject, identified as Joseph, who was in front of the business and speaking incoherently.

Deputies ordered Joseph to get on the ground and he complied. Joseph was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set at this time.

--James Randy Guerin Jr., 45, Berwick, was arrested at 6:07 p.m. Monday on two warrants alleging failure to appear for the charges of battery of a dating partner and leash law. Bail has not been set at this time.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 32 calls for service and made these arrests:

--Zakari D. Valentine, 19, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Monday on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace (language).

--Avila-Funez Ever-Moises, 19, Tupelo Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:49 a.m. Tuesday on charges of battery on a dating partner (strangulation) and unlawful possession of fraudulent documents.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to seven complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Alandria Lewis, 32, Palfrey Street, Franklin, was arrested at 1:42 p.m. Monday on a warrant dated May 5 alleging battery of a police officer, resisting a police officer with force or violence, resisting an officer, simple criminal damage to property, and simple burglary of a vehicle. Lewis was booked, processed and released on an $8,000 bond.

--Milton Green, 37, Willow Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4 p.m. Monday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. Green was booked, processed and held on a $500.00 bond.

--Tasha Louis, 42, Gates Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 5:34 p.m. Monday on a warrant dated May 1 alleging aggravated assault with a firearm. Louis was booked, processed and released on a $25,000 bond.

Ross Benoit, 25, La Rue Cannes, Duson, was arrested at 7:20 p.m. Monday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on charges of speeding and failure to honor written promise to appear. Benoit was booked, processed and held on a $430 bond.
