City police, deputies make assault and battery arrests

Morgan City, St. Mary and Assumption authorities reported arrests on battery and assault charges Thursday and early Friday.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the 24-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls for service and made these arrests:

--Julia Glynn, 32, Arizona St. Morgan City, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. Thursday on a charge of second-degree battery.

--Kalab C. Wood, 29, Bees Lane, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:06 a.m. Friday on charges of simple assault and disturbing the peace (language).

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 30 complaints and made these arrests:

--Matthew Ryan Senette, 39, Centerville, was arrested at 10:56 a.m Thursday on a charge of battery of a dating partner (strangulation). Bail has been set at $18,500.

--Keith Anthony Rhodes, 60, Houma, was arrested at 7:27 p.m. on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possesson with intent to distribute marijuana, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia and signaling required.

Bail has been set at $2,500.

--Anthony D. Lightfoot, 41, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:37 a.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on charges of for possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice. Bail has been set at $18,500.

--Anthony Bourda Jr., 42, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:37 a.m. Thursday by the Narcotics Section on a charge of psssing in a no-passing zone, reckless operation of a vehicle, flight from an officer, driving under suspension and no insurance.

Bourda was released on a $10,000 bond.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Javon T. Williams, 27, Alexander Road, St. Martinville, was arrested Friday as a fugitive from East Baton Rouge Parish on a charge of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment).

The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on La. 70 in Pierre Part on Friday morning.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified Williams. He stated he did not possess a valid driver’s license.

During a warrants check, Williams came back as wanted by East Baton Rouge Parish on a felony domestic warrant.

Williams was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending transfer to East Baton Rouge Parish.
