
Booze-related charges keep local police busy over holiday

Police in Morgan City and Patterson reported seven arrests on alcohol-related charges over the long holiday weekend.
Two other crimes that have been charged frequently in recent weeks also reappeared: possession of synthetic cannabinoids and mistreatment of the infirm.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported these arrests:
•Jeremy Walker, 45, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:08 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids and failure to signal, and as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
•Kenneth Evans, 46, Leo Street, Patterson, was arrested at 9:08 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of cannabinoids, open container and possession of drug paraphernalia.
•Jordan Duet., 32, Louisiana Drive, Thibodaux, was arrested at 10:23 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless operation.
•Kelsey Kincy, 41, Hilda Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated, careless operation and open container.
•Elijah Smith, 21, Ibert Street, Franklin, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Friday on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
•Bernetta Pennison, 56, Morgan City, was arrested at 4 a.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated).
•Carlos Vicente-Perez, 40, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:10 p.m. Friday on charges of hit and run, driving while intoxicated, reckless operation, no driver’s license and open container.
•Jahkyri Aggison, 20, Jude Lane, Opelousas, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. July 1 on a charge of possession of cannabinoids and violation of a drug-free zone.
•Michael King, 49, Fourth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:33 p.m. Thursday on charges of hit and run and two counts of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward City Court).
•Jeffrey Lambert Sr., 51, Fourth Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:13 a.m. July 1 on charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids and failure to appear for arraignment.
•Fashun Taylor, 17, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:43 p.m. Thursday as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
•Shawn Lovell Jr., 23, La. 182, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Thursday on charges of hit and run and no driver’s license. (Released on summons.)
•Mandy Hatfield, 39, Southeast Boulevard, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:06 p.m. Friday on a charge of criminal trespassing. (Released on summons.)
•Kevin Wilson, 40, Cherry Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:24 a.m. Sunday on charges of improper lane usage and possession of marijuana. (Released on summons.)
•Derrick Farlow, 38, North Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, was arrested at 11:17 a.m. Sunday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
•Gerald Jones Jr., 25, Keith Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:36 p.m. Sunday on a charge of remaining where forbidden.
•Terry Jones Jr., 44, Jade Avenue, Baton Rouge, was arrested at 3:22 a.m. Thursday on a charge of domestic abuse battery, theft (under $1,000), violation of a protective order and interfering with emergency communication.
•Dantavius Bulter, 18, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. July 1 on a charge of remaining where forbidden and as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
•Taaj Delaune, 24, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. July 1 on a charge of remaining where forbidden.
•Bryant Harris, 38, Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. July 1 on charges of remaining where forbidden, possession of MDMA, violation of a drug-free zone, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor and introduction of contraband into a jail, and as a fugitive from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Patterson
Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:
•Long Vo, 60, Abbeville, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. Monday on charges of speeding over 25 mph, careless operation and operating a vehicle while intoxicated (first offense). Vo was booked, processed and held on a $3,500 bond.
•Ronald Lumpkin, Jr., 24, Franklin, was arrested Sunday on a charge of remaining where forbidden. Lumpkin was additionally arrested on a Patterson Police Department warrant alleging battery of a dating partner. Lumpkin was booked, processed and held on a $4,000 bond.
•Senovia Washington, 27, Patterson, was arrested at 12:18 a.m. Saturday on charges of improper lane usage and driving under suspension. Washington was released to appear in Mayor’s Court.
•Derrick Farlow, 38, Thibodaux, was arrested at 8:18 p.m. Saturday, on charges of obedience to traffic controls and driving under suspension. Farlow was additionally arrested on a Morgan City Police Department warrant alleging failure to appear. Farlow was booked processed,
released on a $594 bond and transported to Morgan City Police Department.
St. Mary
Sheriff Gary Driskell reported these arrests:
•Yllefrem Estuardo Zamora-Solis, 20, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 7 p.m. Friday on charges of cruelty to animals and leash law.
On Friday, a deputy responded to the area of Lambert Lane in Bayou Vista regarding a report of a dog running loose in the roadway. The deputy spoke to a person who stated the dog is out frequently and has almost been hit by a vehicle.
The deputy located the dog at a residence on Venus Street, where the deputy saw that it nearly was struck by a passing vehicle. When the deputy attempted to catch the dog, it ran underneath a trailer. Dispatch advised that animal control was on the way to assist.
Deputies reviewed the notes from a previous complaint at the same residence for the dog. Animal control subsequently took possession of the dog and the deputies went to Zamora-Solis’ residence and made contact with him.
The deputies learned that he had no vet records due to not taking the dog to the vet. Based on the dog’s observed poor physical condition and evidence suggesting the dog had not been properly cared for, Zamora-Solis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.
Bail has not been set at this time.
•Philip Charles Lemoine, 39, Morgan City, was arrested at 12:42 a.m. Monday on charges of domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse (child endangerment law). Bail was set at $35,000.
•Markam Anthony Derouen Jr., 45, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:49 a.m. Friday on a warrant alleging violation of protective orders. Bail has not been set at this time.
•Jamie Truman Scarbrough Jr., 36, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:31 a.m. Friday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Bail has not been set at this time.
•Timothy Wayne Collier, 27, Patterson, was arrested at 9:25 p.m. Sunday on charges of theft and resisting an officer by flight. Bail was set at $3,000.
•Mason Willie Robinson, 30, Jeanerette, was arrested at 5:19 p.m. July 1 on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, maximum speed limit, mirrors required, driving under suspension, unsafe vehicle and no insurance, and on a Morgan City Police Department warrant alleging failure to appear.
Bail was set at $2,300.
•Dwayne Anthony Davis, 44, Franklin, was arrested at 8:33 p.m. July 1 on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked, or canceled. Davis was released on a $400 bond.
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported these arrests:
•Jason Carr, 23, Oakwood Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 9:57 p.m. Saturday on charges of criminal trespassing, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, simple criminal damage to property, cruelty to the infirm and simple battery of the infirm. Carr was booked, processed and held on a $34,000 bond.
•Jon Ireland, 41, Antigo Alley, Franklin, was arrested at 2:12 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging failure to appear on a charge of non-support. Ireland was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
•David Norris, 57, A Street, Franklin, was arrested at 3:20 p.m. Thursday on charges of driving under suspension, no taillights and possession of a legend drug without a prescription. Norris was booked, processed and held on a $2,500 bond.
•Travis Boatman, 45, Carl C. Foulcard Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 6:53 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of obstruction of justice, no insurance, proper equipment required on vehicles, driver must be licensed, possession of marijuana and no vehicle registration. Boatman was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.
•Wyisha Washington, 41, CYC Lane, Patterson, was arrested at 9:33 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Washington was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.
•Sarakeisha Dugar, 33, L Street, Patterson, was arrested at 9:33 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). Dugar was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.
•Roderick Preston, 19, Martin Luther King Drive, New Iberia, was arrested at 9:57 p.m. Saturday on a warrant dated March 23, 2025, alleging simple battery. Preston was booked, processed and released on a $370 bond.
•Kaiden Preston, 18, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:10 p.m. Saturday on a warrant dated March 23, 2025, alleging simple battery. Preston was booked, processed and released on a $370 bond.
•Kim Reagan, 46, Hamm Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:38 p.m. Sunday on charges of simple burglary, illegal possession of stolen things and criminal trespassing. Reagan was booked, processed and held on a $17,500 bond.
•Roger Sullivan, 63, Willow Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4:38 p.m. July 1 on a warrant dated June 23 alleging theft. Sullivan was booked, processed and held on a $1,500 bond.
•Clarence Reed, 43, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:06 p.m. July 1 on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of disturbing the peace (language), threatening a public official and aggravated assault. Reed was booked, processed and held on a
$545 bond.
