Berwick police report drug arrests

Berwick police reported three arrests alleging drug possession in the last week, plus another in which the suspect was accused to destroying evidence of drug possession.
Berwick
Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:
--Ryan Torres, 30, Patterson, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of hallucinogenic plants, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and no insurance.
About 11:10 p.m. Sunday, officers in the area of U.S. 90 and La. 182 observed a vehicle at the traffic light for quite some time. Officers found the driver to be asleep.
The driver was awakened and identified as Torres. During the course of the stop, he was found to be in possession of hallucinogenic plants, methamphetamine, marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia. It was also learned that his vehicle did not have insurance.
Torres was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked.
--Kayla Bergeron, 35, Berwick was arrested at 9:55 p.m. Dec. 29 on a charge of possession of marijuana (under 14 grams) and on Morgan City and St. Mary Parish warrants alleging failure to appear.
About 9:44 p.m. Dec. 29, officers made contact with Bergeron outside a closed business. While speaking with Bergeron, it was learned that she had several active warrants through the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and Morgan City Police Department.
Bergeron was placed under arrest. During this time, Bergeron was found to be in possession of Marijuana. Bergeron was issued a summons for the marijuana and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where she was booked on the active warrants.
--Jarell Collie, 33, Berwick, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. Monday on a charge of obstruction of justice and on a St. Mary Parish warrant alleging failure to appear.
About 9:20 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a suspicious person complaint. A description of the subject was given to officers.
Officers located the subject, who was identified as Collie. A warrant check revealed that Collie had an active warrant through the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Collie was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. During booking, it was learned that Collie had concealed and destroyed illegal narcotics. Collie was booked on the above charges.
--Merlin Boudreaux III, 46, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:27 Tuesday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, improper lane usage, following too closely and no turn signal.
About 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed traveling in a reckless manner. Officers made contact with Boudreaux.
During the course of the stop, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Boudreaux was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked on the above charges.
St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 209 complaints and made these arrests:
--Juan Carlos Salinas-Lara, 20, Amelia, was arrested at 10:39 a.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging indecent behavior with a juvenile. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Crystal Renee Rubin, 38, Breaux Bridge, was arrested at 2:32 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Connie Ranea Nolan, 53, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday on two warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia,
improper turning or failure to give required signal, and issuing worthless checks.
Bail has not been set at this time.
--Tracy Lynn Thompson, 51, Patterson, was arrested at 11:57 p.m. Monday on a charge of criminal damage to property. Bail has not been set at this time.
--David Wayne Mire Jr., 20, Berwick, was arrested at 11:25 a.m. Dec. 29 on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of marijuana and speeding. Bail has not been set at this time.
--James Duhon III, 49, Franklin, was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of marijuana and speeding. Bail was set at $3,000.
--Richard Ricardo Charpentier, 37, Lafayette, was arrested at 10:19 p.m. Dec. 29 on a warrant alleging failure on charges of driving while intoxicated, open container, driving under suspension and possession of Schedule IV drugs.
Bail has not been set at this time.
--Fonzie John Wade, 48, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Sunday in charges of simple battery of the infirmed, simple battery and aggravated assault. Bail has not been set at this time.
--Joshua Glen Miles Jones, 36, Franklin, was arrested at 3:58 p.m. Saturday on a charge of simple criminal damage to property. Jones was released on a $500 bond.
--Wilfredo Christopher Cabrera-Romero, 21, Amelia, was arrested 5:43 a.m. Monday on charges of reckless operation with accident and no driver’s license. Bail was set at $750.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 39 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:
--James Duhon III, 49, Ricohoc Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
Franklin
Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to four complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:
Ricky Lemon, 60, Curtis Drive, Franklin, was arrested at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on the charge of stop signs and yield signs without accident. Lemon was booked, processed, and released on a $273 bond.
--A juvenile was arrested at 2:47 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of disturbing the peace (fighting). The juvenile was booked, processed and released to parent.
