Berwick police: Multiple drugs found after traffic stop

A traffic stop over the weekend led to the seizure of at least six kinds of illegal drugs, including fentanyl, Berwick police said.
Berwick
Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:
--Travis Johnson, 47, Berwick, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana (over 28 grams), possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone, possession of clonazepam, possession of a Schedule V controlled dangerous substance, two counts of a legend drug without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.
--Natasha Bergeron, 37, Patterson, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Sunday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana (over 28 grams), possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, possession of clonazepam, possession of a Schedule V controlled dangerous substance, two counts of possession of a legend drug without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law (drug-free zone).
About 11:29 p.m. Saturday, a traffic stop was conducted. Johnson was identified as being in the vehicle.
A strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle, and the occupants were asked to exit from it. As Johnson stepped out, officers observed narcotics where he was seated. Johnson was detained pending further investigation and was observed trying to discard an object he had in his mouth. It was later learned to be several bags of marijuana.
The items were recovered, and Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. A short time later, a search warrant was obtained and executed at Johnson’s residence. During this time, marijuana, fentanyl, methamphetamine, clonazepam, pregabalin, multiple legend drugs and items of paraphernalia were located. The residence is within 2,000 feet of a church, which is a posted drug-free zone. Johnson and Bergeron were booked.
--Justin Stratton, 33, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:48 a.m. Friday on two Morgan City warrants alleging failure to appear.
About 8:27 a.m. Friday, a traffic stop was conducted and Stratton was identified as being inside. It was learned that Stratton had active warrants through the Morgan City Police Department. Stratton was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department.
--Jace Lodrigue, 24, Berwick, was arrested at 1:13 a.m. Saturday on charges of domestic abuse battery (second offense) and violation of a protective order.
About 11:57 p.m. Friday, a male subject entered the Berwick Police Department with lacerations on his head and stating that his son, Lodrigue, had attacked him. While police spoke with the victim, Lodrigue entered the Berwick Police Department.
Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that there was a physical altercation between the victim and Lodrigue. It was also learned that the victim had an active protective order against Lodrigue from a prior domestic abuse situation.
Lodrigue was placed under arrest and booked.
St. Mary
Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 81 complaints and made these arrests:
--Adrian Marquis Brown, 25, Franklin, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. Friday on a charge of battery of a correctional officer.
--Wallace Joseph Williams, 53, Pierre Part, was arrested at 10:09 p.m. Friday on an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, personal flotation device required and failure to comply with tiller outboard cutoff. Williams was transported to another agency.
--Quentin Jamar’r Cooper, 33, Morgan City, was arrested at 4 a.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of speeding; following too closely; operating a vehicle while license is suspended, revoked, or canceled; and no seat belt
Bail was set at $1,500.
--Shalyn D. Provost, 41, Jeanerette, was arrested at 3:07 p.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear. Provost was released on a $100 bond.
--Sabrina Lynn Legendre, 30, Thibodaux, was at 10:28 a.m. Saturday on a Lafourche Parish warrant. Legendre is being held for another agency.
--Brittany Nicole Mitchell, 32, New Iberia, was arrested at 5:17 p.m. Saturday on a charge of simple battery of the infirm.
Bail was set at $5,000.
--Varice Kevin Richardson, 30, Amelia, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. Monday on charges of simple battery and second-degree battery.
Bail has not been set at this time.
Morgan City
Chief Chad M. Adams reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Morgan City Police Department responded to 115 calls for service and made these arrests:
--Justin E. Stratton, 33, Verdunville Road, Franklin, was arrested at 10:21 a.m. Friday on a warrant alleging two counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Chernika M. Craft, 31, Orange Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:16 a.m. Friday on a charge of driving under suspension and a warrant alleging two counts of failure to appear (6th Ward Morgan City Court),
--Steisha Brown, 39, Garber Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Friday on a charge of contributing the delinquency of a juvenile.
--Jasmine A. Junifer, 33, Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Friday on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
--Terrence L. Johnson, 40, Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:25 p.m. Friday on a charge of theft (under $1,000).
--Lakisa Jenkins, 35, Federal Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:23 p.m. Friday on a charge of resisting an officer (false information).
--Bryan P. Scully, 61, Pecan Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
--Shanna M. Orgeron, 30, Bush Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:18 a.m. Saturday on a charge of possession of marijuana.
--Lawrence A. Garrett, 27, Fourth Street, Morgan City, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana and on a warrant alleging three counts of failure to appear (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--James O. Gunn, 47, Main Street, Houma, was arrested at 5:07 a.m. Saturday on a charge of obstructing public passage.
--Gary P. Vining, 54, Venus Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:55 p.m. Saturday on charges of resisting an officer with force, two counts of battery n a police officer and two counts of violation of a protective order.
--Charles Allen Jr., 28, Fredrick Street, Thibodaux, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.
--Earlisa T. Callowy, 35, Birch Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10:35 a.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging three counts of failure to appear (6th Ward Morgan City Court).
--Jason P. Daigle, 43, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 9:28 p.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and reckless operation of a vehicle.
