Battery arrests reported by local police agencies

(Editor’s note: The charges listed here and the narratives that go with them are provided by the police agencies that made the arrests. Guilt or innocence has not been determined in court.)

St. Mary, Morgan City and Franklin authorities made arrests over the weekend on battery charges. Patterson police made arrests on charges related to alcohol.

St. Mary

Sheriff Blaise Smith reported that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 115 complaints and made these arrests:

--Kyle Thomas Clement, 30, Cypremort Point, was arrested at 9:47 p.m. Saturday on charges of simple criminal damage to property, domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse aggravated assault. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Terry Wilson, 53, Franklin, was arrested at 10:43 p.m. Sunday on a charge of domestic abuse (child endangerment law). Bail has not been set at this time.

--Isyss Zynaye Clay, 21, New Iberia, was arrested at 4:17 p.m. Sunday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of flight from an officer and improper turn or failure to give required signal. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Danielle Rochelle Paul-Clark, 30, Houston, was arrested at 2:24 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless operation with accident. Bail was set at $5,000.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 150 calls for service over the last 72-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Gannon Troy Broussard Jr., 33, Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at 1:31 p.m. Friday on charges of simple battery and criminal mischief.

--Cally Macaluso, 39, Fanco Lane, Morgan City, was arrested at 5:07 p.m. Friday on a charge of interfering with child custody.

--Justin Dale Adams, 45, Park Haven Lane, Baton Rouge, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving under suspension and following too closely.

--William Roberson Jr., 38, Patterson, was arrested at 2:04 a.m. Saturday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lighting.

--Mitzi Landry, 39, Pine Drive, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:48 p.m. Saturday on charges of criminal trespassing and resisting an officer.

--Paris Nicole Bias, 32, Orange Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 1 a.m. Sunday on two counts of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Henry Aniel Cruz-Gomez, 25, West Tunnel Boulevard, Houma, was arrested at 10:02 p.m. Saturday on charges of switched license plate, no driver’s license and failure to yield.

--Hunter Joseph Rhodes, 25, Saturn Road, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), reckless operation of a motor vehicle, improper lane usage and speeding 76 mph in a 60 mph zone.

--Myles Anthony Morgan, 36, Front Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:49 p.m. Sunday on two counts of criminal trespassing.

--Irma Vera Zavala, 49, Chennault Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:32 p.m. Sunday on a charge of allowing dogs to roam.

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Corey J. Hilliard, 36, Tiffany Street, Patterson, was arrested at 3:34 a.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of expired driver’s license, no insurance, no motor vehicle inspection and expired license plate. Hilliard is incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $1,119.

--Nina S. Butler, 41, Tall Timber Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 1:47 p.m. Saturday on charges of criminal trespass, disturbing the peace (language) and simple assault. Butler was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $827.

--Chantel T. Burke, 30, Church Street, Patterson, was arrested at 1:05 p.m. Saturday on a charge of theft by shoplifting. Burke was incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail with bond set at $476.

--Brian M. Racicot, 58, Shady Grove Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 9:03 p.m. Saturday on charges of public intoxication and open container, and on a Morgan City warrant alleging criminal trespass. Racicot is incarcerated at the Patterson PD
Jail with bond set at $1,329.50.

--Jason J. Ashley, 35, Johnston Street, Baker, was arrested at 9:01 p.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and littering, and on a Morgan City Police Department warrant alleging possession of marijuana (less than 14 grams) and contempt of court.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to 14 complaints over the weekend and made these arrests:

--Devante Burden, 31, Blakesley Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4:10 p.m. Friday on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, simple kidnapping, domestic abuse battery (strangulation) and illegal possession of stolen firearms.

Burden was booked, processed and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

--Tyrelle Edwards, 24, Main Street, Franklin, was arrested at 11:11 a.m. Friday on a warrant for 3rd Ward City Court alleging failure to appear on charges of stop signs, switched license plate and driving under suspension. Edwards was booked, processed and released on a $433.00 bond.

--Isyss Clay, 21, Nola Drive, New Iberia, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. Saturday on a warrant dated Jan. 19, 2022, alleging disturbing the peace (fighting) and obstructing public passage. Clay was booked, processed and released to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.

Chitimacha

Chief B.C. Trahan reported this arrest:

--James Garrett Jr., 29, Elizabeth Street, New Iberia, was arrested Sunday on a charge of theft (under $1,000). He was released on a summons.
