Accident results in DWI, negligent injuring charges

A Texas driver is accused of negligent injury in an accident that also generated a DWI charge.

Deputies and Morgan City police made drug arrests resulting in charges of possession with intent to distribute.

St. Mary

Sheriff Gary Driskell reported that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 95 complaints and made these arrests:

--Bandee Harris McLauchlan, 26, Seabrook, Texas, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday on charges of no seat belt, first-degree vehicular negligent injuring, driving while intoxicated and reckless operation (with accident).

Bail has not been set at this time.

--Jamie Lynn Jett, 40, Patterson, was arrested at 4:37 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Bail has not been set at this time.

--Wyatt Brown, 36, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant alleging possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of controlled dangerous substance law (drug-free zone).

Brown was released on a $25,000 bond.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded 77 calls for service over the last 48-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Cortez Ronell Robinson, 36, Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, was arrested at12:25 a.m. Wednesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, child restraints required and no license plate.

--Mandi Nicole Hatfield, 36, Florence Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday on two counts of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Jamie Kay Driskill, 34, Rose Street, Berwick, was arrested at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of criminal damage to property.

--Dawn Lynn Acosta,44, Duke Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 10 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Toby James Bourg, 51, Shell Beach Road, Pierre Part, was arrested 1:03 a.m. Wednesday on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), flight from an officer, open container and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

--Kalyn Renee Gros, 34, Pecan Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:08 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Dowayne Pollard Charlot, 48, M St. Patterson, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Monday on a charge of failure to appear for arraignment (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Calvin Singleton, 41, Friendship Alley, Amelia, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Monday on two counts of failure to appear to pay fines (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Chet Williams, 57, Henry Street, Patterson, was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Monday on a charge of failure to appear for trial (6th Ward Morgan City Court).

--Billy Turze Townsend, 31, Wren Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:44 p.m. Monday on a charge of failure to appear to pay fine (6th Ward Morgan City Court)

Patterson

Chief Garrett Grogan reported these arrests:

--Cornelius Gant, 66, Cleveland Street, Patterson, was arrested at 9:52 a.m. Monday on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Gant is currently incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail.

--Don C. Williams, 47, Gabriel Street, Patterson, was arrested at 1:52 p.m. Monday on a charge of simple battery. Williams is currently incarcerated at the Patterson PD Jail.

Berwick

Chief David S. Leonard reported this arrest:

--Robert Norris, 34, Berwick, was arrested at 11:07 a.m. Monday on warrants alleging unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and criminal trespassing.

On May 9, the Berwick Police Department received a complaint of unwelcome subjects residing at a vacant residence. Officers were able to identify the subject as being Norris.

Warrants were issued for his arrest and on Monday, officers located Norris at the residence. Norris was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked on the outstanding warrants.

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to five complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made these arrests:

--Shontranice McDaniel, 29, Robertson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of disturbing the peace (language). McDaniel was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.

--David Madison, 60, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of disturbing the peace (language). Madison was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 bond.

--Cory Pierce, 37, Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant dated Monday alleging two counts of running at large. Pierce was booked, processed and held on a $1,000 bond.

--Breyonna Verret, 22, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant dated Sunday alleging theft. Verret was booked, processed and held on a $1,500.00 bond.

--Jaillan McMahan, 26, Anderson Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday on charges of theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with a law enforcement investigation. McMahan was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Alicia Sereal, 40, Adams Street, Franklin, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on the charges of battery of a dating partner, violation of protective order and disturbing the peace. Sereal was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

--Lakedra Stevenson, 31, Adams Street, Franklin, was arrested at 5 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of disturbing the peace. Stevenson was booked, processed and released on a $1,000 . bond.

--Brad Romero, 23, Abbirene Street, Franklin, was arrested at 3:57 a.m. Wednesdqay on warrants for 6th Ward Morgan City Court alleging failure to appear on the charges of driver must be licensed and tail lights required. Romero was additionally arrested on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court alleging probation violation. Romero was booked, processed, and held on a $3,087.50 bond.
