Central Catholic wins second straight
Central Catholic, which struggled to a 1-4 start, is suddenly on a roll.
The Eagles scored a 34-13 victory Friday over District 7-1A rival Centerville.
The other East St. Mary teams continued to find the going tough. South Terrebonne defeated Morgan City 38-14, Erath blanked Berwick 49-0 (see related story) and Belle Chasse was a 57-19 victor over Patterson.
Elsewhere in the parish, West St. Mary won the Fire on the Bayou game with Franklin 14-8, and Covenant Christian beat Hanson Memorial 56-6.
This week’s action starts Thursday, when Patterson looks for its first win of 2025 at 1-6 Berwick. Also Thursday, 1-6 Centerville hosts 1-5 Hanson.
On Friday, Morgan City, 1-6, plays its homecoming game against South Lafourche, 4-3. Central Catholic, 3-4, is at 6-1 Riverside Academy.
Franklin, 2-4, is at home against Houma Christian, 1-7. And West St. Mary, 6-1, hosts Delcambre, 4-3.

Two of Xailen Hebert’s four passes went for touchdowns to Landon Ramagos and Hayden Walker, while James Sanders rushed for 111 yards and a score.
Ramagos caught three of Hebert’s passes for 39 yards, including one 32-yarder. Hayden’s TD reception was for 49 yards.
On the ground, Sanders averaged nearly 11 yards a carry. Walker picked up another 66 yards on 12 trips.
Bryan Wiggins was good for a 22-yard carry, Ramagos rushed for 16 and Hebert finished with 4 ground yards.
