Prejeant now permanent member of Bayou Bend staff

Bayou Bend Health System announced that Dr. Kristi Prejeant, general surgeon, is permanently joining the medical staff after being affiliated with the hospital system for over 10 years.

Prejeant earned her medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport and completed her residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. With over 20 years of experience—much of it dedicated to serving the residents of St. Mary Parish — Prejeant brings a high level of expertise in a range of surgical procedures, including colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, mastectomy, and hernia surgery, among others, the hospital said in a press release.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Prejeant as part of our team,” said Stephanie Guidry, CEO of Bayou Bend Health System. “She will be a wonderful asset to our surgical department and to the community.”

Prejeant is currently seeing patients at the Bayou Bend Surgical and Bariatric Center located at 1105 Northwest Blvd. in Franklin. New patients and former patients of Morgan City Surgical are welcome. For all inquiries or to schedule an appointment, please call 337-471-1215.
