Patterson airport set to get $108K from feds

Louisiana airports will receive $14.9 million in federal funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, including $108,038 for Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport in Patterson.
The announcement came Wednesday from the Office of U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge, who helped negotiate the act.
The funding will support terminal upgrades, hangar construction, taxiway rehabilitation and other improvements to enhance passenger safety, travel experience, and operational efficiency across the state, Cassidy said in a press release.
The grant for the Patterson-area airport will go to "design work to rehabilitate 5,399 feet of taxiway A pavement to maintain structural integrity and extend its useful life."
“Louisiana’s airports welcome visitors, move goods, and support jobs,” Cassidy said. “These investments improve safety and efficiency today but also make sure our airports keep up with the demands of the future.”
