Olander named to Louisiana Shrimp Task Force
Rodney P. Olander of Franklin has been appointed to the Louisiana Shrimp Task Force, the Governor's Office said Friday.
Olander is a certified commercial fisherman who harvests shrimp inshore in St. Mary’s Parish. He will serve as a member possessing a commercial fisherman’s license with a “certified” endorsement nominated by the Louisiana Shrimp Association.
Olander also represents the Franklin area as a member of the St. Mary Parish Council.
The Louisiana Shrimp Task Force was created to study and monitor the shrimp industry and to make recommendations to the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and other state agencies for the maximization of benefit from that industry for the state of Louisiana and its citizens.
Also named to the task force:
--Ronald L. Anderson Jr. of Montegut. Anderson is the vice president of the Louisiana Shrimp Association and is a certified commercial fisherman that harvests shrimp inshore and offshore. Anderson will serve as a member possessing a commercial fisherman’s license with a “certified” endorsement nominated by the Louisiana Shrimp Association.
--Lance A. Authement of Dulac. Authement is a co-owner of LA Shrimp Dock LLC. He will serve as an alternate member and an active Louisiana shrimp processor.
--Kristen M. Baumer of New Orleans.. Baumer is the president of Paul Piazza & Son, Inc. He will serve as an active shrimp processor.
--Andrew J. Blanchard of Houma.. Blanchard is the president of Pearl Inc. seafood processing. He will serve as an active shrimp processor
--Acy J. Cooper Jr. of Venice. Cooper is the president of the Louisiana Shrimp Association and a certified commercial fisherman that harvests shrimp and finfish. He will serve as a member possessing a commercial fisherman’s license with a “certified” endorsement nominated by the Louisiana Shrimp Association.
--Chalin E. Delaune of New Orleans. Delaune is the vice president of Tommy’s Seafood Inc. He will serve as an active Louisiana dock buyer of shrimp.
--Jeff B. Drury III of Belle Chase.. Drury is a certified commercial fisherman who harvests shrimp inshore and offshore. He will serve as a member possessing a commercial fisherman’s license with a “certified” endorsement nominated by the Louisiana Shrimp Association.
--Alan “Andy” Gibson of Houma. Gibson is the owner of Tidelands Seafood Company. He will serve as an active Louisiana shrimp processor nominated by the American Shrimp Processors Association.
--Lance M. Nacio of Montegu. Nacio is the owner of Anna Marie Shrimp. He will serve as a member possessing a commercial fisherman’s license with a “certified” endorsement nominated by the secretary of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
