The city of Morgan City has been spared any electrical issues so far from the winter weather that affected the area in recent days.
Morgan City and Bayou L’Ourse are under boil water advisories.
The city of Morgan City and Assumption Parish Waterworks District No. 1 each announced the advisories in Facebook posts.
Local voters will head to the polls Saturday, with a St. Mary Parish ballot highlighted by runoffs for a new Morgan City mayor and two 16th Judicial District Court judgeships.
Zeta has become a hurricane, and a tropical storm watch has been issued for part of Louisiana, including Morgan City, according to the National Weather Service’s 4 p.m. update.
